What type of Offense

I'm going to try to get Thorn to hire you as a coach for next season.

I personally am really tired of the Nets playing the Princeton offense. It may work well in college, but not as well in the NBA. Teams have adjusted to the Nets playing style for a number of years now. I would like to see an offense that has Carter and Jefferson on the "strong" side of the court, Harris the only player on the weak side, Krstic on either side of Carter or Jefferson and Boone on the block or on top of the key depending on where Krstic is....this way Harris will be left one-on-one and will be able to drive. When he drives, he will have 5 options, shoot if there is no help coming from Boone or Kristic, pass to Boone or Krstic for a lay up or a Krstic 12-15 fotter, pass out to Kristic or Boone at the top of the Key and have them pass off to Carter/Jefferson, pass to Carter, or pass to Jefferson. If Carter get the ball he can either shoot or drive. If he drive, he can hit RJ if he is open or Harris who will take Carter's place on the floor and be ready to rotate back to the weakside. If RJ gets the ball he will have Carter's options but also Krstic for 12-15 footer. RJ and Carter can switch roles too.
Boone and Krstic rotate. So Carter will sometimes have the option of passing to Krstic at the top of the key. If Harris get the ball on anything but the weak side, or is open on the weak side, he'll take a three. There are lots of other variations to this, but no point in getting into them.

Thanks man.

I like the Princeton Offense, but the version we're running absolutely butchers it...we never utilize motion and instead of cutting passes for layups and easy inside points we basically rotate the ball and take long jumpers...

Your idea is pretty interesting...my only concern would be if Carter and RJ could play nice. The movement is key...I think defenses have it way to easy guarding us as the motion offense seems to be as basic as possible.

I agree with the opinion that the current offense sucks, but the roster as is would stink in any offense imo. We have no dominant big man, no shooters, and our premier scorers are inconsistent when it comes to attacking the rim.

Does this team even run the Princeton Offense right now?

Really, I can't tell what type of offense is being run. To me, it seems like an offense developed and run by Isiah Thomas.

To be more direct, I'd put the ball in Harris' hands, utilize his penetrations, where he can kick out to a waiting Nachbar or Carter (who will be anxious to take his fade aways). Can still run a semi-break with RJ, Nachbar and Sean. Go down low with Boone and Sean. Still a lot of possibilities for this team, good future.

I want a Run n' Gun offense like Nelly lets them run at Golden State. I our players would blossum under that type of offense b/c some of them are afraid to miss a shot and everything. Also O.J. Mayo would run up the score for us in this offense

aasaa offense is also known as the memphis attack or drible drive motion...therefore I agree.

Memphis coach Iavaroni was an asst with DAntoni in Phoenix, he was brought for exactly the type of offense PHX runs. The wings spread the floor and the PG makes the decision as to the most open player.

NJ has basically tried to run the Princeton Offense every year. Carter is not a Princeton type players, he's more of the one on one/2 on 2 type player. Frank has stated to a forum poster that it's hard to get VC to move in the motion offense. WIth the right players, the Princeton can be used. I think the Memphis offense is very basic and should be easy to install. With good depth at the wings and point positions, it's a great offense to run if your shooters are marksmen.
