Funny What Will Neil Say After This Series?

Look, let me first thank all of you who covered our team this year, I couldn't have asked for better submissi... ehmmm, professional reporters! We have a fantastic owner.

It was a very successful season, we won the division, Terry did a fantastic job developing young talent, matter of fact nobody in our roster emerged from last year while the likes of Donovan Mitchell shines in other franchises. We have a fantastic owner.

We plan on keeping all of our assets, including our impending free agents, we will try to extend them at very maximum numbers in order to discourage other suitors, no matter if the luxury tax will be worth more than the franchise itself. We have a fantastic owner.

The plan for next year is to sign Steve Blake and Chris Kaman to the veteran minimum, they are the X Factor missing on our team. We have a fantastic owner.

With al-Farouq Aminu at the five we are projected to win 65 games next year. Wait, did I already said that we have a fantastic owner?

*Neil, we have Paul Allen on the phone, he wants to talk with you*

Oh fuck, better sending some CV to the new soap operas filming in Hollywood.

He’s got a book of scripts and talking points. Im sure we will hear most of them.

First season they weren't supposed to get hammered? Last year they were thinking 2nd round, as they had made the 2nd round the previous season. You don't pay that much money expecting to get an 8-seed and get swept.

2nd round against a healthy GSW who added KD and swept Portland in the regular season?
Not a chance. Lillard said Portland in 6, and the media jumped all over it.
It was said multiple times on this forum. 'What is he supposed to say? Good season, we lose in 4?'

VS the Clippers no one expected Portland to even make the playoffs, let alone make the second round.
At best, Portland was supposed to lose 4-1.
It's still said by many on this very forum, that Portland got lucky with CP3 & BG getting injured.
Even then it's a knock on Portland being that they didn't just blow out the Clippers every game after those two went down.

I was simply thinking last season, I don't know why by "first season" I thought last season.

My guess is that he talks about the futures of Collins and Nurkic. He will also probably play the victim, saying that New Orleans was a horrible matchup for our guards.

Or he might play the "You fantasy GM's have no f'in idea how hard it is to attract FA's to a town with so little valet parking. Seriously, you have to park your own car here! And you wonder why I had too give Turner so much money!"

Everyone here has forgotten, but I haven't, because I was the one who noticed and called him out for it...and got a lot of criticism from Olshey slaves (employees?)...

When Olshey signed Turner, he said that Turner would definitely start. I started a controversy on this board (that a new player should have to earn a starting position, not be entitled to it). Word got to other boards, then to reporters, who asked Olshey, and he wormed his way into ambiguity about it. When the season arrived, Turner was definitely not good enough to start.

So Olshey overrated Turner even more than we think, which is already way too much.

Yeah, that was all you. Right.

Oh sorry I forgot to tell you that you aren't allowed to participate in this thread.

Not sure anything's changed since February...
Olshey said:
"It doesn't matter, it really doesn't matter," Olshey told reporters, referring to Batum's pricetag. "Let us worry about the money. You guys write about the players and the team and how well or how poorly we play and how guys are developing. We'll worry about how we manage our cap and how guys get paid. Guys' values are based on what they bring to the team, and I can assure you Nicolas will absolutely live up to this contract."

08FEB2018 Ok, clownshoes. I let you worry about the money, and I worried about team development. I've now seen you pay 2 teams (removing our ability to buy draft picks and such) to take on players (and still have to have Nicholson on our cap for 2.7M a year for 6 more years) that we let you worry about with the money. You now have impacted how well or poorly the team plays and how guys are developing (on someone else's squad) because of your fuckups with how you managed the cap and how guys got paid. And you don't even have the "we didn't see this coming" excuse, b/c forum nerds were squealing about it 18 months ago. I mean, it seems to me as if guys are not developing (I'm looking at Meyers, Jake, Moe, Crabbe, maybe Biggie and Nurk) and we are playing kind of crappily (outside of Dame and CJ and Ed) and letting you "value guys for what they bring to the team." Well, dude...:

Nicholson: 2.9M/yr for 6 years, waived.
Crabbe: no longer with us, paid to receive nothing in return
Vonleh: no longer with us, paid to receive nothing in return (though at least we didn't get a "dead cap" bone job)
Meyers: How's his development going, Neil?
Swanigan: How many other teams have their 1st-rounder in the G-League on someone else's team, Neil?
Layman: How's his development going?
Patty Ice: Finally developing in Year 3, just in time to get RFA'd. What's your idea of his value this summer?
Nurk: Are we stoked about his development, Neil, or does it look like he's doing a multimillion-dollar regression in a contract year?

Wins: Chief is playing about as well as we could expect, Ed is doing what we brought him to do, Dame and CJ are Dame and CJ. Shabazz is a pleasant surprise.

tl;dr: GTFO.
tl;dr again: GTFO.
