If we had Wallace in training camp at the beginning of the season?

I'm thinking we are a 55 win team.

Hey Mags,

I am too busy too look it up, but I think saw a 17 of twenty number with him. Now I know thats a bit unreal to expect to times that by four, but I think without him we would have had a hard time getting in the playoffs. the eight seed has what? 46 wins?

With him a full year he has to add ten games, so some where between 55 and 60 would be my guess.

You are correct. Actually we had a 64% record with him in the line-up. I was being conservative about 55 wins.

That's with GW not having any off season to get used to the other guys on the team.

I think they would have won around 57 just because there were lots of games Portland didn't bring 100% effort and lost because of it. With GW that doesn't happen nearly as often.

And to think that would net us a 2nd seed, or at least tied for it.

With Oden & Wallace 80-2

God damn Golden State...

Low points of the season: the home loss to GSW and the infamous "road trip of shit".

I was going to ask what the Blazers record would have been with Wallace and a healthy Oden, but you beat me too it.

So, how about with Wallace, a healthy Oden and the 2008-09 version of Brandon Roy. I vote for 98-0, not counting preseason. That's 82-0 regular season then fo-fo-fo-fo in the playoffs.

Nothing could top that road trip - ugliest stretch of Blazer ball in a long time.

BTW, even that 54 win 2008-09 team went 1-2 vs. the Warriors. But, that was without Crash and Oden.

I think the team would have done much better with a full season and fewer injuries. We've never been able to establish any continuity over the past couple seasons.

Not only did they go 0-4 on that road trip, the lost to the Nets (5-11), 76ers (4-13) and Wizards (5-12). Damn, that was BAD!

Ugliest Blazer ball was the season we had Miles, Statbo, and Ratiff as our go to guys.

That team closed out the season losing 19 of their last 20 games. 15 of the 19 losses were by double digits, and the lone victory was by a single point. Damn that team was BAD!

Looking back, I totally overreacted, but at the time, I felt sick and ready to throw myself off the bridge.

Holy fuck, what season was that? I've totally blocked it out.

2005-06, the 21 win season right before we drafted Roy and Aldridge. We had the worst record in the league, but got screwed by the ping pong balls and ended up with the 4th pick. That Kevin Pritchard was able to turn the 4th pick in a bad draft (plus Sebastian Telfair and various flotsam and jetsom) into Aldridge and Roy was pure magic.

Yes sir. I think Chicago and Minny would have loved to have a do over. Probably like we would with picking Oden over Durant. ;)
