Whats your thoughts on Nick Young? Isn't he an unrestricted free agent?..

He's a "gunner" & certainly not an upgrade to Matthews as a starter. Not a bad guy to have coming off the bench in that Jamal Crawford type role, but not a whole lot else, in my opinion.

The Blazers' biggest issues this season are that their franchise player is a rookie, and that the bench may be one of the worst benches in NBA history because of the young players not being ready, and the old players never being solid NBA players. Get even a little bit of help from the bench, and this team will be in the playoffs next year.

Leonard is a big key, though. Olshey's biggest decision is whether to spend money on a defensive big for the starting unit, or for a few solid players off of the bench that will cut the starters' minutes down to 35 mpg. Lillard/Batum/LMA are just getting spent playing so many minutes.

for the right price i would love it. perfect fire power off the bench

Nick Young would be fine, but the long term problem isn't the bench, that can easily be rectified....The problem is the starting core group of players isn't good enough to contend for an NBA title.

The thoughts of Nick Young is not really blowing anyone's skirt up though?

After listening to Tony Kornheiser for years I'm not sure I could ever truly enjoy Nick Young on the Blazers

I don't agree. Add a defensive center and our starting 5 is solid!

I think Lillard is the wild card in that, though.

His rookie stats are very similar to Derrick Rose's. I'm not saying Lillard will be an MVP, because the odds are not in favor of it, but for a rookie PG, he's doing a lot of good in this league.

Well with this logic if your team isn't OKC/Heat/Clippers/SA you should just tank because on paper no other team is "good enough" to win the title. All other teams should pray for that superstar player that hardly ever comes along to wright their ship.

Kevin Durant was fairly shitty his rookie year. 15.8 PER on 28.1 USG%. OKC should have traded him since their core wasn't good enough with him as a rookie.

Do you think Lillard's been fairly shitty his rookie year? Similar PER and USG%

Keep fucking dreaming then....Because that is what you are doing if you think a starting 5 of Lillard, LA, Batum, Wes and Hickson\Leonard is good enough to challenge for an NBA title....

A stronger bench can help make them better, one and done playoff team most likely....but the only way they compete for a title again with that lineup is in your dreams....or on NBA2K

I think it was sarcasm. Saying Lillard has had a similar rookie year as Durant.

Yeah, that seemed obvious to me at the time. Lillard has only continued to prove me right over a year later, as did Durant for OKC after his rookie season.

I just read 2 Nick Cannon threads on the OT board, and I certainly don't need this again.
