Yes I heard it on Wheels. The caller said Bayless and Cunningham for New Jersey's MLE.

How does that work? You can't trade the MLE, but you could sign and trade a player using your MLE.

We already have more than the MLE, so we could just sign that player ourselves.

Teams can sign and trade their own FA using a Bird exception and trade them right away. If a team uses the MLE to sign a FA,, they can't trade them for 3 months or until Dec. 15th (I believe it is), whichever is later.

Neither of the players the Blazers are rumored to be giving up are FAs so this report is BS.

It actually is possible. Jerryd makes 2.143M this year (and Dante is unsigned), so we can take back between 1.634M and 2.778M. The only player on NJN that qualifies is Jarvis Hayes (though we can do Sean Williams OR Courtney Lee + CDR!).

The rumor was players for a MLE. That is not possible under NBA rules.
