Surgeons performing a biopsy a suspected tumour in the lung of a 28-year-old Russian were astonished to find a two inch fir tree growing inside the mass. The patient had been complaining of chest pains, and presented coughing up blood.

The Komsomolskaya Pravda daily reports that doctors at the Udmurtian Cancer Center in Central Russia were amazed on cutting the tissue of the tumour to find green needles in the cut. Dr. Vladimir Kamashev said: "I blinked three times, and thought I was seeing things. Then I called the assistant to have a look."

The patient, Artyom Sidorkin, said: "They told me my coughing blood was not caused by any disease. It was the needles poking the capillaries. It really hurt a lot. But I never felt like I had an alien object inside of me."

That is fricking crazy. I could not imagine the amount of relief you would feel after surgery, and having the doctor come in and tell you that you had a fir tree growing in your lungs, and not lung cancer. Talk about feeling alive!
