I used to run into this pretty often in the early 70's. I would just let the door go, and say, "ERA, all the way."

They would sometimes ask what I meant by that, and I'd tell them that I though women should have the right be drafted to go to Vietnam, hold an M16, and dodge bullets just like the guys.

fake letter.

"you state that you believed she was only being humors"

If it is real...

It's obvious the letter isn't about holding a door open for a lady, it's about laughing at the lady when she asks you not to hold the door open for her. Last time I heard, disrespect was always a bad thing.

Holding a door open is the polite thing to do, regardless if you are male or female. If some woman told me she didn't need me to hold the door open for her in a bitchy tone, you're right, I wouldn't chuckle I'd probably think she was a twat.

No. No. No. No. No. He laughed because he thought she was joking. It's right there in the letter, we didn't even have to hear the defense to be able to understand it was nothing.

Some people are ridiculous. What was a nice gesture (and something i do for guys and gals) is turned into some 'equality' issue. Some people need to get over themselves.

One time when I held a door open for a girl in a wheel chair she actually yelled at me.. If I notice there's any person close behind me going in the same door, I always hold the door open for them.

Bitches gonna be bitches. Manhaters gonna be manhaters.

Fake chain e-mail gonna be fake chain e-mail.

I was raised to be polite, hold doors open, yes sir, no sir..things are different now..

Exactly. Doesn't matter if it's a man or a woman. It's the nice thing to do.
