Just watched the video again of the 2007 draft lottery. Never in a million years did I think the Blazers would be in 5 years where they are right now. Watching the Thunder knock of the Lakers last night was what I thought the Blazers would be doing with Roy, Aldridge, and Oden. Very sad.

I was firmly on the Joakim Noah and Al Horford bandwagon. Winning the lotto was not on my radar so neither were Oden or Durant.

I also really liked Corey Brewer. One of the few times I've been wrong.

if that was when the lottery was, I was down at The City sports bar with a few other friends. I had a great feeling we were going to be winning he lotto that season, I dunno why. Wish we hadn't. Noah would have been a hell of a consolation. oh well. here's hoping for a little of that same magic next week.

I was resigned to having Corey Brewer on our team.

I had no tv where I was living yet as I just moved in. Listened to the lottery streamed online. As soon as I heard that ATL was pulled out for the 3rd pick, I ran around the house yelling at the top of my lungs. Somehow, ( I still dont remember how I got there) I ended up in the front yard still yelling. I didnt realize until I got back inside that we even had the #1 pick. :sigh: I was certain that my years of sticking with it through heartbreak finally had paid off.

I was working when the guy in the cube behind me screamed with joy.

I was at 2:16 of this video! What a day![video=youtube;thTIYCXcx90]

That's weird...... wouldn't let me link the party video.

That video is morbid -- witness when we made the Bowie/Jordan mistake again, only worse.

I cant rewatch that video. Just cant handle that feeling again lol.

I was working on NW 23rd for a drug launch and ducked into the Silver Dollar bar to watch it. About 10 people in there, and we went nuts. Then I had to work again until 9pm or so, but I got to listen to 1080am for their coverage all night.

It may not have been exactly called the Silver Dollar, though. And I may not have worked until 9pm exactly. Possibly 5-20 people as well.

Here we go.....[video=youtube;thTIYCXcx90]

wow how unnecessarily ambiguous

I was killing it at the poker tables at Wild Horse Casino in Pendeleton. I was just in a zone that day. I was getting a little tired so I decided to go up to my room and take a nap. Went up, turned on the TV and watched us get the #1 pick. My gf and I started cheering and yelling! I'll never forget that day.

i was sitting in my friends house smoking weed, they arent bball fans at all, but i made them watch it anyways.

when the blazers won it, i freaked out smiling happy cheering and whistling the sweet song of the fancy free, and then i tried to explain what happened to my friends, and why it was so important (oden)

they must have thought i was on acid or something, but they humored me with awkward smiles

At least I can honestly say that I'm one of the handful of people to play with Greg Oden

I was on a plane home from Hawaii. Had forgotten the lottery had happened. When I landed, I had a message from my brother saying that we had won. I immediately thought "Bowie/Jordan" all over again and even worse, with our NW rival.

Everyone had that fear Eric, but nobody actually thought it could happen to us twice.

I hear you. Even with the fear, I still wanted Oden. By the way, how good do you think we'd be now if we had taken Durant? Would we still have ZBo?

I didn't think that until I read the ESPN article where a lot of GM's and their doctors red-flag'd his pre-draft physical.

I'll admit it, I was raiding in World of Warcraft when my brother came upstairs screaming that we were in the top 3 so I got up left my room and went down to watch the end of it on TV.

I was watching on TV. When the Blazers landed in the top 3, I thought OMG are we going to get Oden? I was holding my breath. I really wanted Portland #1, Seattle #2, Atlanta #3. Couldn't believe it worked out that way.

Logged onto forum, it was at a crawl because everyone wanted to post! I posted that for the first time in the history of the universe, everyone on the board, including Shooter, then called Talkhard and me, were in agreement. I recall Talkhard, saying he loved me. I mean, that will sure never happen again.

In retrospect, that truly fantastic moment in time really sucked.

You know I was pacing back and forth in my living room freaking out. What a great day. It's really too bad it didn't work out

Great moment for any Blazers fan! But a very sad ending to all the dreams brought on by that day late last year!
I was at that draft party with other friends/fans. Like many of you, was willing to hope for landing Noah before the lottery that year, but obviously, afterwards was a Honk Once kind of guy after that moment.

What could have been? What if we'd landed #2, kept Zbo, etc. Much better off than we are today.
