The news has a few leads on this case but there are many theories that I have come up with. In a nutshell.....

Via security surveillance at the gas station shows a male near her Ford Explorer at SE 257th and Stark. Her debit/credit card was used there. Her car was located further west at the Walmart store at 235th NE Sandy Blvd at Wood Village with a broken passenger window.

TROUTDALE, OR (KPTV) -
Troutdale police say they uncovered a cell phone in connection with the case of the missing Gresham woman, Whitney Heichel.

Dispatchers say the initial call came in at 5:24 p.m.

Police say children were out playing in a wooded area near the Troutdale Terrace Apartments on Southwest 257th Avenue, when they found the cell phone lying in the bushes.

"I looked at the phone and noticed the girl on the background was the girl on the news," said Carissa Maxwell. "I looked at her texts and they said, 'where are you, you're missing,' and when my Mom came home she saw it and called police."

Detectives searched the area for a little over an hour to collect any other evidence in the case. Gresham police say they only uncovered the cell phone.

Gresham police say it's unclear if the cell phone belongs to Heichel herself, but those who found the phone say they are convinced.

"I was pretty shocked, I knew right away by looking at the phone that I recognized her face," said April Fletcher, who's daughter found the phone.

"I started flipping though her recent texts including one from an uncle, and one from a Scott, trying to find out where she was. One text was asking if she was ok. It confirmed to me it was absolutely her cell phone."

Either an ex-bf (of 21 year old Whitney) or ex-gf of Clint Heichel is jealous and planned this attack on Whitney at her Heatherwood Apartments. And the cell phone was chucked near the Troutdale Terrace Apartments. So a second car was possibly used and met up with the Ford Explorer at the Walmart in Wood Village.

I'm inclined to her being tired of jehovah's witness, and cheated on her husband.

Husband killed her.

That's the feeling I get. Did you see his interview on the news? Just seemed like zero emotion. Didn't seem distraught at all.

And the car being left in such a public place, so close to their apartment. Seemed like it was supposed to be found with the seats down, broken window, mud on the tires. All seems very sketchy to me.

Was he the chubby guy with the fauxhawk? Unless he has Aspergers, he looks guilty.

Yeah, the guy who was talking about his wife's disappearance like he was talking about paying taxes. She had only gone missing a few hours earlier and he was calmly talking to the news like it was nothing.

After reading a couple articles, it would be hard for him to do it. She was due at work at 7 am, her husband got a phone call at 8:15 from her boss to say that she was a no show/no call. Supposedly at that point he started looking for her, calling friends and relatives, and checking at a local hospital. That should all be things that police can confirm to establish a timeline.

That's important because she was supposedly seen with a man at a gas station at 9:14 am. Her husband called the police to report her missing at 9:50 am after checking the hospital and getting in touch with relatives. So unless he could be in two places at once, it probably wasn't him.

dunno, could be some crack head, jacked her, hit her card and killed her. The husband does seem like he is numbed to what has happened.

Numbness like that does happen; I had a hell of a time feeling any emotions after my best friend died in high school for like a year. And that numbness does look like boredom... but it's just the mind shutting down.

EDIT: Badly formed sentences for the win: "I had a hell of a time feeling any emotions after my best friend died in high school for like a year." does not mean my best friends stopped being dead after a year.

There has been an arrest made in the murder of Whitney Heichel.

*edit*

Jonathan Holt of Gresham was arrested.

So sickening. I know its lame to be one of those. But I'm good friends with Whitney's sisters best friend. And they have been just devastated the last few days. I can't imagine what is going through their hearts.

He's been arrested for aggravated murder. Here is the oregon law.

Jonathan Holt is finally online, and his crime data is not listed on the Multnomah County jail at this time. Just keep on refreshing in the next few hours and more info will come up. He didn't get booked until 12:20 am saturday morning.
