Then when CNN actually bothered to check up on it, they found it was just a typical private school. I don't see that as a big issue.</div>

Fox News is a PR tool for the conservative party. I wouldn't put much stock in anything they report on. I wouldn't mind Obama winning, but I just hope he has the support to get things accomplished. The last thing the US needs is a lameduck president.

<div class="quote_poster">A.F. Venom Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">See thats thing he didn't really grow up under a Muslim influence. His mom remarried an Indonessian man and he was in Indonessia for a couple of years therefore he HAD to go to a Muslim school. I'm just saying this because its a misconception that Barack Obama is muslim, people have actually told me "I wouldn't vote for him, he is a muslim"</div>

Oh i agree. Barack isn't Muslim, he just has experiences in dealing with them since thats how he was forced to grow up.

I think thats an amazing thing and something that could really help restore some semblance of peace in the Middle East.

Honestly, I was apathetic towards the past presidential elections since I was young and unable to vote at the time. But in 2008 I'll be 18 and fully eligible to vote.

I love how Guiliani managed 9/11, but unfortunately, Hunter is right.

Is America ready for a black president (Obama is black, correct?) more so a woman president?

Btw, for the record, I don't think even Obama could get any peace with the middle east.

Why wouldn't America be ready for a black or female president?

If not, when will they be?

I think its about time the parties stopped asking if America's ready for a black/woman president and just forced them to choose themselves.

I think America is more ready for a black president than a female president.

I just have a feeling we'll either have a black president or we'll have a female president.

In Quran (holy book of Muslims) it says that womens will eventually rule the world. And I just have a weird feeling its about to start now.

You need to come back to reality.

Meanwhile according to CNN its official that Barack Obama will run for president in 08.

I Miss MJ, watch the comments. If you don't believe in his beliefs, shut up. There is no need to be disrespectful.

Dennis Kucinic is the only person I would support. the rest of em are just going to compromise and flip-flop around.

Obama's wife is the biggest moron, and if he doesn't get the democratic election, I'm willing to bet that she is a huge reason.

Being a black man, Barrack could get shot pumping gas..

What a damn moron, being an arab/latin, I can get shot. George Bush can get shot, anybody can get shot pumping gas. Race has nothing to do with it.

$20 says Barrack doesn't even pump his own gas.

I wouldn't call a Harvard graduate a moron, or the biggest moron, but yeah the statement was pretty ignorant. I guess you don't realize but race is a very sensitive issue (sometimes even overly so) with black people in America, probably more than any other race. I don't understand why it seems to bother you so much though. (you spell Barack with one r btw)

no Barrack has a better chance of being killed pumping gas in a black neighborhood than I have a chance in a white neighborhood. Black-on-black crime is a big thing in this country. Notice how Jordan's family, Serena Williams family, Bill Cosby's family all have been targeted, as well as ALL the rap artists who people try to jack - stuff that basically never happens to rich or famous whites...
what i got from that piece was Obama really impressed me cause he was confident yet humble. He also talked about "if I lose" - this was brave to even say those words.

All the candidates for this election seem relatively decent. Thinking about being forced to vote for John Kerry or George Bush in the last election makes me quiver in my sleep.

Anyways this is my hope for this election: It actually comes down to issues. I'm so tired of hearing dumb crap from a persons distant past come up and ruin their chances of election. People spend all their time concentrating on this stupid crap, meanwhile the "conservative" republican is running up a record debt and getting into wars while changing his justification along the way.

People need to stop voting on someone's media image and start looking at what they are actually going to do for the country.

Obama's speech was awesome, right now he's the canidate I like most. I'm just afraid he won't have the support or experience necessary to accomplish anything in 4 years.

Hillary Clinton was very convincing saying if she was elected the war in Iraq would end. She didn't elaborate on how, but that's what I like seeing in a canidate. I like definitive goals.

It's going to be tough for Obama to compete with her, I was hoping they'd run together. Hillary has A LOT of money to spend on her campaigning, and generally the person with the biggest war chest wins.

I actually agree with you.

Whereas Hilary Clinton approved the Iraq Resolution authorizing the war, Kucinich led the charge in the House of Representatives in challenging the Bush administration’s “march towards war” in 2002, organizing as many 125 Democratic votes against the war. He's also pushing for universal, not-for-profit health care, which I'm a strong supporter of, and he's for the decriminalization of marijuana, an issue which I feel is too frequently overlooked. The "War on Drugs" is too taxing on our economy and is overall pointless. If Kucinich is elected, he'll effectively end it. I also agree with his 12-step plan on how to withdraw our troops and maintain a peaceful relationship with Iraq. It's got some minor flaws, but it's the best one I've seen to date. You've also got to love the fact that the guy's behind programs for environmental renewal. The way that some of the other candidates have balked at environmental issues is pathetic. To me, environmental issues are just as important as any other issues.

So needless to say, Kucinich has my full support at this point. Kucinich in '08!

Damn, sign me up for that guy too (the war on drugs is such a waste of resources). Too bad he's a long shot.

Did any candidate ruin their chance by saying they'd keep troops in Iraq?
