I'm saying the Suns. Nash and Stat scare me, but they don't play D!

I like the Suns. I would take Dallas. Utah is my last choice of the three. I think we match up well with Phoenix.

in order of my own preference:

Utah (with Boozer hurt, I think we beat them)

Dallas (they're tough, but we "know we can beat them")

Suns (simply playing too hot right now! THIS fact scares me)

....and too bad Denver fell too far. Mid-year I would have hated to play Denver, but I wouldn't mind right now. Batum could have shut down Melo, and with Camby on the roster, I think we would have done well against the Nuggets.

My bet: We'll wind up playing the Suns.

Question I have is "what bracket do we want to be in?"

If we finish in 7th, does this mean we avoid the Lakers until the WCF?

If we finish 6th, do we face them in the second round?

Anyone know?

winner of 1-8 faces winner of 4-5 in the semis.
winner of 2-7 faces winner of 3-6 in the semis.

we're out of the #1 seed's bracket until the WCFs regardless of where we fall.

Here's the deal. We have to open the series on the road. So which team has the worst home record? Dallas by a mile. That's probably where we should want to start our series. They've lost their 13 times and two of those times were to us. That said, for some reason, I'm favoring Phoenix. They're extremely weak in the middle after Amare Stoudremire. They start Jarron Collins for the love of God. Camby may average 20 rebounds a game in this series. And Steve Nash can't guard Miller or Bayless who scored a then career high 29 against Phoenix earlier in the season. We're very good at controlling tempo against teams that want to run. In our last game against the Suns, we did a fantastic job of forcing a slow down game and we would've won easily if we had hit shots in the third quarter. I DEFINITELY don't want to start the series in Salt Lake City. It's a tough building to win in and they have tons of confidence against us. So I vote for Dallas or Phoenix with a leaning towards Phoenix. I don't care if Phoenix is hot right now because we're pretty hot too.

The Suns because they have less overall talent on both sides of the ball.

With the way this season has gone, we'll probably end up with Utah. And, who knows, with our team, I like our chances against anyone, esp. after we were written off against Chobe and the Midwest Moses and managed to come out on top...

I think for the first time ever, I might actually agree with you on something! Go Suns!

Suns

No strong Physical Presence (same could be said for Dallas as well i guess)

Definitely the Suns. We are amazing at making them play at our pace, and they struggle when they don't get up and down.

And Carlisle has been hiding this guy from us until now, but Beaubois could be a serious factor in the playoffs, and I don't want any part of it.

I voted Utah ... I want revenge for the regular season and without Boozer fully healthy I think there's a chance here to steal a series.

Phoenix has played the poorest all season against the Western Conference playoff teams of the three teams in the poll. (10-13) versus (12-12) for Dallas and (15-11) for Utah. They aren't as good as the other two. With Roy out, Andre Miller will have to be one of the top-3 scorers for the team, and he can score at will against Steve Nash (he can against Dallas, too). Jarryd Bayless matches up well with Phoenix, and we'll need Bayless to step up for the Bench. Our weakness of letting some teams have a dunkfest on us, isn't an issue with Phoenix. We've already beaten Phoenix on the road without Roy (we did in Dallas, too)

I think R. Lopez being out is a bigger deal than many--he's the energy guy/rebounder/toughness in the paint that normally give us fits. So since he'd probably be back in Round Two, I'd rather face PHX first, and then either DAL with a round under our belts or SAS with HCA.

Phoenix, San Antonio, L.A., Milwaukee <===path to championship

I wanted the Suns in round one until about a week ago. I still think we match up well against them so I'm happy with anyone at this point, but they are playing sooo well right now... I'm just glad it won't be Denver. I think they are the one team we could not beat.

With that said, I now am leaning toward Utah. I mean, its hard for any team to beat another club 6 straight times in one season. I feel the chance of us stealing game one or two against the Jazz is pretty high. Especially if they don't take us seriously without Roy.

An even series going back to Portland is anyones. Plus, I hate the Jazz almost as much as the Lakers and would LOVE to take them out.... and I think the Jazz were last team we've beaten in a playoff series...?

The league would crap it's pants if it had a Portland/Milwaukee championship. It will never, ever happen, even if in some fantasy world were they both went 81-1 in the regular season (each team's single loss coming against one another), one of the teams would somehow be bounced in the conference finals to a bigger market team.

It would be awesome to see though.

As far as matchups go, I want to face Utah least. Mainly because with Roy out, we need scoring from Miller and I think Deron is Deron will cause 'Dre the most problems of the three potential PG matchups.

Fixed. Bingo! We need Miller to dominate the series and he has the best chance of doing that against Phoenix.

Phoenix because they're the only team we have a running shot at to beat without Roy.

Suns.

Just as good as Dallas, or even a bit better. But they don't have an elite defender to pester Roy and they're always one bad fall for Nash and his back from being absolutely terrible.
