So, Brandon is clearly the most valuable player on the Blazers' roster, but they also have quality depth at his position. With the discussion today about him not being the greatest fit with a running team (which I happen to think is overblown, but at least has some truth), I got to thinking about who I might actually be willing to trade Brandon for. Ignoring such trivial items as salary cap issues and whether their current team would actually make a deal, I come up with: LeBron, Chris Paul, and possibly Durrant because he's so young and is such an offensive stud at the 3 spot.

Kobe's too old and has way too much baggage. Wade has too many injury issues. Dwight Howard is tempting, but I'd be hard pressed to see him as the guy that puts the Blazers over the top, especially if Greg overcomes his injury problems. Carmelo certainly deserves strong consideration, but personally, I'd pass on him. Deron Williams is a lateral move. There are a lot of other good young players that may eventually be able to do more for their teams than Brandon does, but I can't think of any that I'd make the trade for right now.

What are your thoughts?

durant. too bad we cant have both... oh wait "gag"

The whole 'he doesn't run' thing isn't a deal breaker, but I would like to see him diversify his game in this area. As for who I would trade him for, the list is mostly a who's who of MVP candidates. Bottom line, it really doesn't matter because there's about as much chance of him being traded in the next two or three years as MIXUM becoming the resident 'voice of reason' around here.

Not even considering LBJ (unless a sign-and-trade this summer if LBJ wanted cash instead of exposure? Yeah, right)

I'd probably only trade Roy for CP3. Maybe Howard, but I think he's in ORL for the long haul. Not 'Melo. Maybe Wade.

cp3 is always hurt. wade isnt getting younger or better. kobe is past his prime.

lebron and durant

I would have traded him for Paul, but now that CP3 is injured, that is definitely off the table.

Paul, Bron, Wade.

I woulda added KD if his playmaking abilities were better.

All that said, I'll gladly keep him.

Isn't it amazing how guys that have to shoulder too much of a load on their team get hurt? Amazing coincidence it is.

Nobody. We're lucky Brandon is from the Northwest or he probably wouldn't want to stay here for his career.

Stellar find. I just watched Brewster's Millions again last year, and thought it dated, but still funny.

LeBron James, of course.

Chris Paul, also.

My wife thinks Andre Miller looks like Richard Pryor. I think it's a stretch, but maybe a little.

Chris Paul
Dwight Howard (LOL)
LeBron (LOL LOL LOL LOL)

In order...

LeBron James
Kevin Durant
Deron Williams
Dwight Howard

I would rather have Brandon then all of them, but I am just going with the thread idea and not being a pussy and laughing at the thread.

Considering Roy's age there are only a few players worth trading him for in order of preference:
LeBron - No explination needed.
Wade - A game much like Roy's with superior defense.
CP3 - He would make Oden, LMA and Batum look like all stars.
Carmello Anthony - Most effortless scorer in the league with improving defense.

If Portland just wants to make a trade to get a title in the next two years, damn the future the list would include:
Duncan - Best power forward ever? Yes please.
Kobe - I hate this fucker but there isn't anyone in the league who wants to win as bad, who is as tough and as dangerous as Kobe. Ever wanted to see someone scream at Blake when he sucks ass? Kobe would. Replace Roy with Kobe and keep the rest of the roster and they are a title contender next year. Though in all fairness if they can stay healthy next year they are a title contender with Roy.

Care to elaborate, oh mediocre one, or are you too busy LOLing?

Laughing at the people saying none of the above, or only Lebron.

Roy is a slow down guard who can't, or doesn't want to work with a certain player type, and has bad wheels. He is great, and I am happy he is ours, but c'mon man!!!

LeBron
Wade
Paul
Williams

I would never want Dwight Howard to be the best player on my team. He gets pissy when he doesn't get the ball, but he has one offensive move and can't make free throws.

A list of five people is still pretty short for a guy with so many shortcomings.

I wouldn't want to trade Roy! Love the guy.

However:

Boozer + Williams + NY Knicks #1 pick

Roy + Miller + Outlaw

Williams / Bayless / Mills
Rudy / Webster (he can play a 2) / NY #1 Pick (go for a scorer)
Batum / Cunningham
LA / Pendergraph
Boozer / Oden / Pryz

This, I think, is one of the only trades I like from you. Ever. And this is a fantastic trade! But they would not do it. We would have to give Batum, Bayless and not get their pick. But I would still do that. Hands down.

I looked it up, it would have to be more like Joel\Miller\Roy\Outlaw for Williams and Millsap. But I would still consider that. But I would want the pick too from Utah.

In all seriousness, Lebron is the only player that I'd trade Roy for. If this team wins championship(s) I want Roy as the guy who leads us there.
