Why does the site log me out?

And what's the period of inactivity before you have to re-login? If you're making a long post and the site logs you out, does what you write still post to the site, or do I have to make sure I copy my post to my clipboard?

I used to have this problem where I couldn't log in....to repeat what Denny says...clear your cookies and try to log in while pressing the remember me box.

I also have more success using IE over FireFox
