...wear these:

Seriously: Ewing had creaky knees his entire career. He did all right.

Well, those two. But actually I meant the knee pads that are bunched up at his ankles mostly. Here's a better look:

Of course, ideally there'd be space-age artificial ice built-in to the kneepads. And spikes on the outside to deter any Maggette wanna-bes.

because they dont do anything except protect for "court burns" (rug burns)

I disagree. They would obviously not stop hyper extensions and ligament damage, but I think they'd soften the knee to knee contact and probably would have stopped the bone from chipping in the collision with Magette.

I agree.

Also, I think by adding resistance, they reduce the extent of any hyper extension that may occur.

I think there's a good chance he'll be wearing something on his knee to pad it when he comes back. He might as well do both knees just to be safe!

Hmm...

Do they make these for the entire body? Gregers needs all the help he can get.

Kobe and DWade tried that and the league said "No!". :tsktsk:

Stern said "I want to see me some leg!"

A huge inflateable bubble! Like Tom Green wore in this video:

Knee pads are awful style. Very YMCA. I'd rather our players looked good, even if it meant they missed lots of games to injury.

Here we go...they're meant to protect against bear attacks. Mobility might be an issue but we can stop worrying about injuries!

Mobility is overrated. You can still have a decent career as an NBA center without it... how long was Greg Ostertag in the league?!?
