Will Jeter catch Tris Speaker?

to finish in the top 5. Currently he has 3,308 hits. Tris Speaker finished with 3,514. He's 206 hits away. I figure unless he gets hot, he may get another 30-35 more hits this season. Which would mean that he'd need approx 170 next year. Think its possible?

I'm pulling for Jeter have the best amount of playing days possible and pass whomever he can.

I'm just hoping that like Mantle, he's endeared himself enough with the fans that they don't start booing him if he slumps. I don't think it will happen but you never know.
