William F. Buckley was the man! The National Review misses him!

What ever smack down Bill Buckley gave The Donald years ago, was no doubt earned and likely did some good. I seriously doubt Mr. Buckley would do so in this day, no I just can't see him helping the Democrat.
The National Review as fallen far since the founders days, occasionally Goldberg will write something readable,
perhaps another contributor here and there. Not today though.

Beck had a day or two in the sun, but it appears he should have worn a hat. Now it seems he is running the Review!

Dang! It is hard to be a conservative.

Buckley was a true renaissance man and I miss him greatly. But I agree with Vidal, he was an apologist fIor the worst excesses of the conservative party. Not like Vidal was much better, if ever there was a blow hard who proves that intellectuals separate themselves from the common man, it's Vidal. I miss Buckley more though, he was a great mind.
