Michelle MacLaren was excited and happy to be directing Wonder Woman, when the news of her landing the job was announced in November.
She would be the second female filmmaker to helm a comic-book superhero story. Lexi Alexander directed 2008 film Punisher: War Zone.
MacLaren, a two-time Emmy winner, is well known for her TV work, having directed episodes of Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and The X-Files. Wonder Woman would have been MacLaren's film directorial debut.
