Damn you Cronin!!!

In other news, that kinda implies that maybe the #7 pick shouldn't have to be traded for OG or Grant.

Agreed. Wood actually has better stats than Grant and some aren't close.

Good move for Dallas.

A little surprised we didn't try to send out the Milwaukee pick or something for him. Pretty low cost.

Woods has flaws, but if the cost is low I'm fine trying to get vets like that.

Look at Wiggins, considered a bad contract and way overpaid, now on a new team, is in discussion as finals MVP.

IIRC, Wood is not known for his D. Grant is some version of 3 and D.
Good deal for Dallas. Houston gets to tank. Portland needs more D not less.

Grant sucks. Thats an overpay.

Maybe Grant improves a bit here, although I'd say odds are he doesn't, but who knows, maybe he does. Giving up the #7 directly or indirectly with trading down would be horrible.

Giving up 2nd round picks and a scrub is great though. I highly doubt Detroit trades him without at least getting a FRP.

Before this Wood trade I would have been surprised we give de #7 straight for Grant. Now I would shocked. It's not going to happen. Even for John Collins who has a longer contract and is younger (2x better value), #7 straight up is steep. JC + #16 for #7 could do it for me.

Agreed....I'd even look at trading #7 to the Spurs for #9 + 20/25 and then moving #9 for J and #16.....if possible.

If we could get JC, #16 and a pick in the 20s, that would go a long way to helping rebuild assets that Neil wasted. Use those two picks to possibly move back up, or trade for other pieces.

Isn't this already posted in the Around the NBA thread? Same player No?

I'm glad its posted here in its own thread. Many of us don't weed through threads with thousands of posts.
But you are posting in the Around the NBA thread?
No worries. No issue with me? Was more wondering if it was the same player?

I think that would do it for a lot of people round here, but the Hawks may be getting Gobert for JC, Capela, and 16

Wood to Dallas.
Collins to Utah.
Anunoby...nowhere.
Grant to PHX in S&T for Ayton (just watch).

Blazers are going to be bargain-bin shopping yet again.

I like this thought.
Here's a scenario where no one would have to 'eat' $18M+ of Bledsoe's contract.

Trade #1 -
Spurs #9 + #20 + Langford ($5.6M Salary dump into smaller TPE) <-> #7
Spurs give up #20 to open up a bit more cap space.

Trade #2 -
Detroit Grant ($20M into large TPE) <-> #20 + Bucks'25 pick + Langford ($5.6M)
Detroit clears $15M in cap space to go after FA.

Trade #3 -
Atlanta Collins ($23M) <-> Grant ($20M) + #36
Hawks have been rumored to be looking at Grant. They make this swap for more harmony in their locker room.

With Collins on board, who do you take with the remaining #9 pick?
