Excellent article! I hung out on a beach in Hawaii one day and he was by himself getting stoned ...I thought about approaching him but decided to leave him in peace.

Wow this article actually made me think even less of Kareem. I've never lived in the public eye but for someone who's always battled it but wanted to be seen differently, you'd think he would have appreciated a fan coming up to him with his toddler son to be introduced as one of the best to play the game. Yet he was inconvienced and turned his back on them and let his publicist handle it. And his comment that Magic Johnson was always smiling and wasn't really affected by "the white man", I'd argue that Magic didn't let anyone get in his way to be great and successful. Kareem feels whites were comfortable with Magic because he smiled borders on inherent ignorance/racism. People's perception of you comes from the way you allow yourself to be portrayed. Fans and teammates hated Kareem because he alienated himself from everyone... something he's still doing today. I say, #uck him!!!

Thanks for the link.
Actually, he reminds me a bit of Einstein who loved mankind but didn't really like people.
