<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Dallas writers are still none too happy about the Nets’ trade. So they’ve come up with a solution: Do it again, this time dealing Josh Howard for Richard Jefferson! Howard angered Mavs’ management by 1) telling local radio he smokes weed in the off-season and 2) staging a birthday party after a playoff loss. The risk? Dallas has “already contributed enough to the Nets’ core for the next decade,” as one put it.</div>

Haha...that would be great. I'd be down for it.

Howard's a way better defensive player. And has a Team Option for the last year of his contract, unlike RJ.

Also, maybe it'd cause Diop to want to stay..?

Get Bass from them this time Thorn!

Bass + Howard

Do it Thron! Send back Diop, if they really want him.

New York /
Zach Randolph (for Howard and Jerry Stackhouse) Actually, for the Mavericks, it works better for Eddy Curry, straight up. But the Knicks probably will move Randolph before Curry. A low-post threat, for sure. Randolph has much more baggage than Howard.

Yeah, that's what it doesn't work

What the hell is Mark Cuban thinking?

Edit: Nevermind. A writer's suggestion. Had me so scared I didn't read correctly.

howard for rj? that's a no-brainer...nets will jump at that deal...howard is cheaper and has a shorter contract.

Yeah I'd jump on this trade as well. I wonder if he'll become a problem though? I mean I didnt hear any complains about him until last year..so im wondering if it was a one-time accident? Ugh

Screw this deal.

RJ's had maturity issues brought up, but they pale in comparison to Howard. To me, RJ has proven to be a winner (from college to the NBA) with the kind of crunchtime mentality; as well as playoff/finals experience; that Howard lacks.

3 plusses though:

Howard may change for the better playing with his best friend
Diop might want to stay
Howard has a slightly better contract than RJ

Still though... I'm not liking it. We've had issues with pot smoking players who dissapear in the playoffs.
