Blockbuster Trade of the decade: :drumroll:

Greg Oden
Travis Outlaw
Sergio Rodriquez
Raef LaFrentz

for

Lebron James
Eric Snow

Would you?

:dunno:

Congratulations on a successful trade.
Due to Portland and Cleveland being over the cap, the 25% trade rule is invoked. Portland and Cleveland had to be no more than 125% plus $100,000 of the salary given out for the trade to be accepted, which did happen here. This trade satisfies the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement.

:devilwink:

?

Blake, Bayless, Snow
Roy, Rudy
James, Webster, Batum
Aldridge, Frye, Diogu
Pryzbilla, Randolph

Only problem is.....there is no way in hell that would convince Cleveland to trade LeBron....I would consider him and untouchable player

For LeBron? No doubt. Also, no doubt that Cleveland wouldn't do it.

The Cavs wouldn't do this trade even at gun point.

Cleveland is going to get NOTHING in return for Lebron - NOTHING.

Can you imagine being a Cav's fan?

Or they can have a future: Oden, Outlaw, Sergio and cap space (LaFrentz) to build.

GM of the Year in Cleveland if he makes this deal!

ONLY real problem: it would be easier to swallow if the Cav's were playing .500 ball this year! Unfortunately, they have a chance to go deep - maybe win it this year. I don't think they will win it, but if the GM pulled the trigger on the trade tomorrow - he'd be run out of town....despite the "good move" for the future of the franchise!

For Portland: Smart Move. No matter Oden's successes down the road. We'd win a championship (or three) before Oden made his first All-Star game!

I would trade anyone on our team for LeBron. Who wouldn't?

LeBron will resign in Cleveland, did you realize that with Wally's contract coming off thier books along with Snow's they have enough cap room to brig in another max-salary player? They can save it until next year buy signing good talent to one year deals next year to ensure thier run at a top free-agent to run along side Lebron..ie; Bosh. With what Cleveland has in place....Lebron won't be going anywhere.

And for the sake of argument...lol...even if he doesn't resign....I'm sure that UNLESS Portland offers up a trade with a mixture of Oden, Roy and young talent (ie; Bayless, Batum or Rudy) Cleveland can get a better deal elsewhere...and when you think about it, what it would take to bring Lebron over would gut the Blazers and leave LeBron with less to work with in a tougher Conference....hence he would bolt....and what would Portland be left with?!?

And there is no way he would be GM of the year for trading LeBron for Oden and cap space....Cleveland fans would kill him....lol

I've seen many ridiculous trade proposals on this site (specifically in the Blazers forum), but his one takes the cake. Why would Cleveland, a championship contender, trade the best player in the league, who is playing out of his mind this season, for a struggling, injury prone young center who at his peak won't come close to LeBron's effect on a basketball game, two role players and cap space?

Pie in the sky, is that you???

No way this deal is done either way because LeBronz (as my wife calls him) would just walk on us and go to NY or some other big market team anyways. Then what?

What a dumb thread. You do realize Oden is playing like hot garbage, right?

Oden is playing like a rookie center who had to take a year off becuase of MF surgery and won't be close to 100% until next season like everyone else that has had the surgery.

Oden shows signs that he will be a damn good player. He also shows his inexperience when playing defense.

A bigger problem with Greg is that his coach has no fucking clue how to use him.

Agreed. I imagine if Oden were playing alongside a great PG like Chris Paul he would have a shot being in the ROY conversation. Our guards don't seem to have trust in trying to get him the ball early int he clock when the defense isn't already set.

He's raw, but we need to put him in situations where he can succeed.

Portland is too small a media market for Lebron. I think he has bigger goals than basketball.

It's totally true. Many (most) of the proposed trades by Blazer fans are total pipe dreams.

Word! ... Hopefully you don't think we're all batshitfuckingcrazy.

To be fair, the OP simply asked blazer fans if they'd be willing to do that trade. He didn't make any suggestion that Cleveland would want to.

barfo

Actually, there is a chance Cleveland would do something like this - if Lebron said to them and to the media something like "There is a 100% chance I'm leaving, I don't want to play here anymore, under any conditions."

Would you trade Oden for a 1 year rent of Lebron - doubt it. If there were some assurances he'd re-sign, then
of course I'd do the trade.

However, I don't think LeBron would say any such thing, hence the protestations in this thread.

I'd trade Greg Oden from the Blazers for Greg Oden of the Ohio State Buckeyes.

You contradicted yourself in your own post.

I'd trade Oden for some patient fans who weren't looking to trade players because they have unrealistic and fucking moronic expectations and no ability to realize that just 3 games ago people were getting huge boners for Greg.

This might be the single most bi-polar fan base in the whole sporting world. One minute this team is going to do great things, the next minute Greg Oden will always suck and the team won't ever do shit. At least MM is consistent with his tried and true (and tired) bitching about the coach. Win or loss, he comes up with all sorts of shit to pile onto the coach.

Your "bake it" campaign of 2009 has succeeded in making you the most annoying and retarded poster of the year thus far.

Congrats.

That's good work.

To be fair it isn't a run away

Let's see, there are......

1. My Nate rants
2. Mixum...enough said
3. Check mate
4. Bake it
5. Every poster looking through rose garden colored glasses.

I mean it's not cut and dry.

MM, there is also "Learn the game, then post" and "Put Sergio in!"
