Well maybe there was no chance to be had, did you ever consider that? It may have been one of those situations where they said if they have to face him as an opponent, he was going to an east coast team no matter what. My best guess is Paul wanted committment from the team to show he was their guy. They made the move to appease him. But just because they made their choice, it doesn't mean they can't protect the team from having to play against him very often.

There is. I post on another forum that discusses the NBA in general rather than just the Blazers. I'm a fan of the NBA, not just the Blazers. I spread my knowledge around to various outlets. Don't want to deprive anyone of my knowledge bombs.

The Pacers have a nice young point in Collison, and Hibbert has really started to look like a solid big man with decent touch and after losing a bunch of weight is much more mobile on D and is starting to corral a decent number of boards, throw in Granger and that's a pretty decent team.

The NBA has been really up and down this year. On any given night it seems like a different team shows up, and I think they are hovering right at 0.500 on the season. Sure, there have been some big wins over good teams, but most victories have been against weaker teams at home -- in other words, complete fool's gold. On average, the coaching has been atrocious; a clear majority of fans are ready for a change of pace. The bottom line is that the NBA simply needs to score more points while also solidifying their defense; for once it would be nice to have a positive point differential in this league.

Basically, tomorrow's games are for the season.

As a Pacer fan I would not trade Hibbert, Granger, and Collison for Oden, LA, Roy, and Batum. Indiana will also have cap space next year depending on the new CBA.

Or the Pacers are not that bad. Still not a fan of the way they used cap space up until Murphy was traded, Lance Stevenson allegedly throwing his kid's mom down a flight of stairs, Brandon Rush being suspended for pot, or the big hole at PF. Tyler Hansbourough, Larry Bird, and Mike Dunleavy also piss me off.

The Blazers are not going to be the dynasty everyone hoped after drafting Oden. If anyone still has those expectations, they are going to be awfully disappointed. While the Blazers regroup, I will still be there cheering for them barring a return to the Jail Blazer days.

The Bucks are 6-11 and are built around Bogut and Jennings. The Pacers are 8-7 and would much rather have Hibbert and Collison. Subtracting those four players, the Bucks have no one to match the talent level of Granger.

I am all for a sig bet if you think the Bucks finish with a better record or that Sacramento has a similiar win percentage vs the West.

In the East, they are somewhere between 6-9. In the West, they are somewhere between 8-11 with age to play a big factor for the top teams in the near future.
