Rim Protection
Steven Adams blocked two shots per game in 23.4 minutes, an excellent rate for a young center prospect.
Given his size, length, mobility and leaping ability, Adams has all the tools to effectively protect the rim.
Adams projects as a defensive asset, which is why coaches will be patient with his offensive development. If they can carve out an athletic, two-way, seven-foot center, the time it takes will be worth the wait.
That would show Olshey agrees with me regarding Leonard
Isn't Yahoo just siting DraftExpress? Nothing new here folks. Move along.
I think you mean citing.
I am not convinced about that. I was pissed last year on draft night when we took Leonard. I wanted a SG. This year I still want a SG, but I can also see the logic of taking another project at center. We have room for 3 centers on the roster, and I would prefer if we had 3 of them. Even though all three won't play.
So if we had Adams and Leonard and an older vet (i.e O'Neal) it would makes some sense for next year and the future. I certainly would not be going to bed on Thursday all amped up , (Other than the fact that I will be in Vegas that night) but I guess I won't be pissed if it happens.
Perhaps Olshey believes that two young centers fighting for playing time (i.e. Adams and Leonard) is the best way to see what each can do, and decide which one we want to keep.
Not to mention the fact that Adams apparently knows how to play defense and protect the rim, which Leonard doesn't.
Oops. I knew it didn't look rite. ;-)
