Before we give up on Yang we need to realize some things. On offense when he has the ball he is looking to assist to someone with a vision of a certain center for the nuggets. Can invision him learning to run the offense from the post, and Deni would be his primary tool. He wouldn't be the center. He would be the High post with Donivan the center, Cam Forward, Deni gruad, and shaedon guard. Guess you could call Yang the point center. To do this he would need to follow Donavan's training style. First year a tall and talented. Second year, a Beahist. Weights and conditioning. Simple. Right ?
 
Han Sen needs to get fluent in English and then he'll not overthink the game in two languages...when he doesn't need a translator to talk to Deni..his game will mesh much better. He needs to speed up, bulk up and train himself to think in English. He has the talent and is a willing student of the game. Most bigs take 5 years to impact a game...Clingan took one year...hopefully Han Sen does the same.

Excellent observation. Think the English thing will not take long, but he does speak Basketball pretty well. The best thing I like is watching him when he gets the ball and planning his next assist. He can see much without moving his head. Let me think of others besides the best player in the league now. Hmmm - Pistol Pete Marivich. Magic Johnson.

First off--welcome to the forum!

Secondly, even if it might theoretically work offensively, on the defensive end I personally can't envision Yang and Clingan on the floor together for any appreciable length of time. Yang doesn't have the footspeed to defend forwards. As long as Clingan is here, Yang is gonna be his backup.

I think a lot of people are and or were quick to throw him out because either they refuse to admit someone else might be smarter than then OR are just impatient clowns.

He could be a bust, but he shows signs of plays that are very positive. Gotta give him time to grow before we throw him out like he's Keljin Blevins.

Yeah, way too soon to write him off. And this is coming from one of the biggest cheerleaders for Cedric Coward before the draft.

We have no clue yet about how much Yang will improve. Some centers take a while to develop physically. Look how much Clingan has progressed this year on offense. I think Yang will improve defensively. But yeah, he needs to get stronger.

I think part of the reason that Jokic is effective is because he can shoot from all levels and he can also drive to the basket effectively.
Besides his conditioning and weights, Yang needs to develop those skills. He has a long ways to go.
 
What I like most about Han Sen is the way he makes instant and usually good decisions with the ball, as if he knows what to do with it before it gets to him. It's like he sees the entire floor and what every player is doing. I recall one play last night where the defense knocked the ball loose, he got it and instantaneously passed it ahead to a teammate who was sprinting up the floor. It barely touched his hand. Another play that impressed me was when he was dribbling the ball on a fast break around half court, and it looked like he was passing to one teammate on the wing, the defender bit, but he instead made a perfect pass to Camara (?) way down in the corner for a three.

What I like least is his clunky plodding foot speed. Nothing that a little Flubber in his shoes couldn't fix. Maybe he can get some from Shaedon.

As long as we have both, I’m happy with them competing for role and minutes…. Kind of like an F1 team. I could see a twin towers lineup getting a few impactful minutes a game where we draw out big guys to the three point line while Deni and Shaedon cook on the drive and dish.

I kinda think eventually they could play DC and Yang together, due to the play making skills of Yang. Not a TON of minutes, and clearly it depends on Yang improving his footwork a lot (same with DC actually).
Probably not ideal or a starting 5 you purposely go with, but it could be an option.

I see this as early mid 4th quarter where you leave Yang in as the starters come back (maybe giving our PG more rest) to give the opponent something weird to deal with before the final push.
 
Why is he not getting consistent reps with the Remix?

His garbage time pt is doing him no favors FFS

I have been pleasantly surprised by watching Williams and Hans playing together lately. Not saying they have been kicking ass, but it has not seemed to have hurt the team. Obviously, it is being done out of desperation with all of the injuries, but if Yang gets the 3-ball down much like Clingan has, I could see it working against certain teams.
 
I definitely saw better play last night even thought the stat line doesn't show much. The frustration from some only comes from our being forced to play him in important minutes now - when that wasn't the plan prior to all the injuries.

Welcome to the forum, but... before we give up on him??? Only short sited ADD morons are doing that. He was drafted and billed as a project and anything good the team gets from him year 1 isn't expected. I think I speak for many/most here saying we're more then willing to be patient with his development and can see the potential. He's 20 & I liken him to a baby giraffe.
