WOW! a west coast game at a reasonable east coast time.

RHP - Nathan Eovaldi, (7-2 4.81 ERA)

VS.

RHP - Matt Shoemaker, (4-6 5.03 ERA)

YANKEES NOTES: Ellsbury's return may be set back as he missed his latest rehab start. Stay tuned.
When scoring 3 or less runs this season the Yankees are 5-25. And when scoring 2 or less runs they're 2-22.

Tonight's lineup......

CF - Gardner
3B - Headley
DH - Rodriquez
1B - Teixeira
C - McCann
RF - Jones (So much for Judge)
LF - Young
SS - Gregorius
2B - Drew

Lineup in the OP

Hopefully we can avoid the sweep.

My only question is..... "How many hits
do they get today?"

We win tonight, we finish the LAST West Coast trip of the season 3-4, and a rough stretch of 20 games in 20 days.

We'll have some fun banging around teams in the 2nd half when they enter their house of horrors....Yankee Stadium!

Yeah, we can also have some fun.

I can hear ESPN now, crying about "cheap" Yankee Stadium HRs as we clobber them.
GO YANKS!

1-0 Yankees as they continue to make every pitcher looking like Cy Young.

Jones really got into that one. But the offense is still pathetic, 5 runs now in 4 games.

u r f n kiddin me, i can't watch this chit, if i was eiovaldi i would have pulled a mussina move, pitching my heart out the team sucks with this turkey at the helm....

Damn Headley bases loaded & you throw one into the ground, thank God for Teixeira, that could have easily led to 2 runs.

...^^^good call...Eovaldi was on a short leash for obvious reasons...5.1 innings, 94 pitches, only 56 were strikes...he was as he usually is, very un-economical.

...do you ever post anything that is not Girardi bashing?

Lefties are only hitting 134 against Shreve. It was the right move.

Shreve has certainly become a good little egg out of the pen.

He really has, I'm very impressed with him.

...it seems that Headley either looks very good or very bad on every ball hit to him...don't understand how someone who is supposed to be such a good defensive 3Bman can be so inconsistent.

Especially since he was really good last year. Usually a good glove is a good glove. Then like you said even this year he makes some great plays and other times he looks like he has never played third before. Like somebody yells at him when ball comes. You're too low damnit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indian's no hitter broken up with two outs in the ninth.

...^^^ yeah, and I've noticed that he seems to have become very mechanical or robot-like on his throws to 1B...whatever works I guess.

Another missed golden opportunity with RISP & less then 2 outs.

maybe girardi should give him a couple of nites off...... hee hee

Why the hell was Betances (and McCann) getting cute with Aybar when he had him 0-2 leading off the 9th with a two run lead?
First challenge him with a couple of fastballs up in the strike zone....then try and break off a curveball if he was still "alive".

They were pitching to a hitter with little power as if he were a dangerous power hitter and it was a ONE RUN game.

Jeez....

And I saw Girardi's reaction as Betances was falling behind 3-2 after being ahead in the count 0-2....what the fuk was McCann thinking? Curveball, curveball, curveball.....
Just go right after him with fastballs letter high.....NOT waist high.

All's well that ends well. We win, go 3-4 on the road trip vs a couple of pretty good teams.....good enough for now.

Another strange Baseball gig, Cleveland was getting their butts handed to them then they show up in Tampa and get three well pitched games out of nowhere. Be nice if Cleveland takes them out tomorrow as well. Did not watch this game, got a new musical toy today, hooked it into my system and it tested well. Much more fun playing and singing than to watch this Yankee team. In reading the box scores and recap looks like Eovaldi squeaked by again. I have the same opinion as others on Shreve, man does his job well every time out.
