DAMN! I was really hoping for a afternoon weekend game. but what the hell.

RHP - Nathan Eovaldi, (4-1 4.27 ERA)

VS.

RHP - Jesse Hahn, (2-4 3.69 ERA)

Anyone taking bets on whether 2015 version of Bob Uecker will be in the lineup?
 
I have distant memories of a pitcher with Detroit, Hank Aguirre pre-DH.....horrible hitter, and when he fouled off a pitch at the Stadium, the crowd gave him a rousing applause.

Wasn't a bad pitcher.

C - McCann
RF - Beltran
LF - Flores
SS - Gregorius

Still time to go 4-3 on the trip and at this point I'll "accept" 3-4.
Anything less than 3-4 drops the Yanks' record by (at least) three games.
NO GOOD.

Going ...gulp....1-6, or, yikes ..0-7 and Mr. Optimistic (me) may begin to wonder.

McCann with a 1st inning RBI single, Yankees up 1-zip.
 
I like what I'm seeing with McCann, this year.......

He definitely has found his groove in the AL, and looks very comfy Hitting....

As for Beltrans-vestite, I still think & always will, believe the Hiring of Carlos was unnecessary, especially for his age, and the amount of $$$ with His Contract......

Carlos looks out of place in the box, as if he's a rookie trying to figure out the game at this level.......Hell, I'd rather have Ichiro back in RF.......!!! No kidding.....!
 
I'm hoping the Yankees can give me a victory for my birthday.

Beltran has obviously lost a step and 1/2 in RF ......and to make matters worse, he just isn't making good progress with his hitting.

Not good...maybe Gentleman Joe Girardi can send a message in advance and cut down on his ABs and start "the other guy" a bit more often in RF.
Ichiro had become rather harmless with the stick last year with the Yanks.
Too bad Heathcott is injured again.
But Flores is here....are you listening Joe?

Yanks NEED some semblance of Beltran's last full season (with Cards) to help this offense.

BTW: in case anyone missed it, John Flaherty just said, "Drew is getting the night off tonight because he's been struggling a little of late". Apparently to Flaherty A LITTLE BIT OF LATE means the last 2 years.

No excuses for the Yanks, their pitching should control the A's but.....they're facing two pretty good young pitchers these past two nights....(Gray, Hahn).....
losing the first game of this series messed everything up.
 
Well I'll be damned.......Beltran goes downtown with a HR, and 2 Runs score, Yanx take the lead..........I still don't care for Beltran tho'.......

Not saying I wasn't excited to see him drive one to Right Center, over the fence.....

I just don't think the Yanx are getting or have got the bang for their bucks with Carlos....nice shot tho'

Happy Belated Birthday Rick, did not watch the game checked out the highlights on "Quick Pitch" this am. Couple of sharp plays by Flores to help in that win. Nice to see a kid come up and make a couple of sharp contributions. Cashman will probably send him down saying the Yankees need the offense of Drews bat more so than outfield "D",
