I'd like to see Eovaldi throw a modest brushback pitch to the first two or three batters just for good measure...and I wouldn't mind a dust-off.
And the rest of the Astros' hitters in the dugout will also take note and file it in their heads.
Batters are just too darn comfortable facing Eovaldi and his "97 mph fastball".

I'd like to see Eovaldi pull down his pants and take a giant crap right on the rubber. It would be the most exciting part of his night.

... that is the funniest thing I've read on this board for quite awhile.

Questions: Will these Yankees solve 'stros
rookie pitcher?
Will infield play errorless baseball?
Can Eovaldi pitch a strong seven innings?

If 'yes' to all three, Yankees win!
If Eovaldi f'ks up, Yankees lose.... :dammit:

...after getting beat in the first game, the last thing the Yanx need to do is get their starting pitcher ejected for throwing at batters and thereby taxing the BP more than it already is....the best way for Eovaldi to help his team is to do the job he's paid to do, which is to get batters out.

Interesting, and it could be therapeutic.... maybe it'll loosen up the jerky air-head and give him more confidence to be a TOUGH, "nasty" pitcher.

He gives me the impression of being a carefree soft competitor.....and he obviously can't be too bright as he continues to do the same bad things over and over on the mound.

Not "throwing at batters"....but pitching inside a bit more often and possibly being just conveniently wild. Keep them honest and protect the outer side of the plate.

The Umps , as bad as some of them are, recognize when a pitcher is merely a little off on his control trying to hit inside corners.
I'm not talking about headhunting or plunking batters squarely on their backs or rear-ends.

THAT WOULD BE HILARIOUS!!!!!!!!

I concur

I agree

It would definitely behoove him to do so though

An early lead would be real nice. Like I said I'd be okay with a series split.

With Eovaldi pitching its shaky, best hope for better results from Tank and Pineda in games 3-4. Much as no one likes Boston best see them take care of business with Tampa Bay.

Hell, the entire Team should do as much, when Eovaldi does his dump, after His warm up throws, right when the 1st batter enters the box, a entire Team, taking a dump..........

OUTHOUSE material.:smiley-muha:

well, we Fans can't throw Reggie Bars anymore, so this would be the next best thing......:bgrin: :shitstorm::party::craphead:

If it looks like shit, and smells like shit, don't taste it, cuz it IS Shit.....:shock1:

Three cheers for poop humor. We're never too old.

This ballpark is like Grand Central Station.

I could also never understand that incline they have in CF. Looks like an accident waiting to happen.

Put Drew out there. He'll surely cause an accident.
He nearly KO'd our RF in 2nd inning.

With a better throw that guy is out by a mile.

Vincent Velasquez, last time I saw him on the mound, was in late August, here in Lancaster A+ ball.

I mentioned as much in another post....

a 1 hit shutout, with one BB, I thought then this kid is on the fast track to the Big Time, and look, he's pitching in his 3rd game, gotta' get a feel for the Majors....

He was throwing 99 mph here consistently, tho' he's not now, but the Houston Channel on MLB Xtra Innings, just mentioned as much; "Velasquez was throwing 99 mph, and dialed his fastball back, to enable more control......

With Nolan Ryan in command with His Son, this is the same dilemna Nolan faced with the Mets, then Halo's, yet it was in Anaheim, where he found his control, after a few years. Yet, he never dialed his fastball back. He rather enjoyed still being a bit wild, to intimidate batters, recall Nolans 2nd No Hitter in 73, in Detroit, when Norm Cash came to bat with a table leg.
Nolans 2nd NO NO of that year.......

In other words, Velasquez is in the right hands, I hope he makes this team.....He can do it, its only a matter of time......

I can't stand to watch Eovaldi's mechanics, or delivery. He sits too far back on the ball, and never seems to get the full effects of driving off his back leg, to maximize speed, and control too.

this is exactly what I mean, a Pitchers follow through, until he delivers, and is a perfect T *** as noted below.......like a flamingo on one leg, with the other creating the perfect T.....Until Eovaldi finds this method of driving off of his back leg, he will be sub-par IMHO.....

*** The Perfect T

Tho' Eovaldi can throw in the upper 90s, I believe if taught some different mechanics, he may just hit 100 mph as the norm....

Watch his back leg guys, he needs mechanical fixing, where's the nearest Auto Garage.....?

16 innings without a run. Eovaldi would've needed to have been perfect with the ruts this offense gets itself in.

Let's trade him to the Astro's or lend him to the Stro's let Nolan teach the Kid how to get max velocity and control, then send him back, or trade for Velasquez, and CASH$$$$$$ LOTS OF IT.......!!

Thankfully Young has some balls. Three run shot.
