Im not giving up on this year, just thinking about the future since it was brought up in another topicLineup
amon - DHJeter - SSAbreu - RFARod - 3BMatsui - LFPosada - CCano - 2BCabrera - CFMienkiwicz - 1BExplanation: I think damon has fallen off defensively, and his arm is literally, that of a little girlJeter is JeterAbreu is in a terrible slump - but will get out. Hef its our team and lineup SO well. Its uncannyArod should stay (assuming yankees either resign him, or he chooses not to opt out)Matsui is consistent and a stabilizing force in the middle of the lineupPosada is the best hitting catcher not named Mauer in baseball, also runs a staff better than anyoneCano is a young, explosive hitterCabrera is a hustler, and is A+ defensively, and getsd on baseMien. is great defensively, and better hitter than this year has shownGiambi = out, has really fallen off, strikes outw ay to much now.SP:WangPettiteHughesSanchezDeSalvo.Wang is amazing, and Pettite is very consistent. Hughes and Sanchez both has #1 type stuff and Desalvo has been our best pitcher in the past three starts. Clemens is out, Moose is out, Pavano is released, Karstens let go, Rasner let go, Chase Wirght set down to minors.Bullpen:CL: RiveraSet: Brent Cox (minor leaguer)Set: ProctorSet: FarnsworthLefty: MyersRelief: VizcainoLongRelief: Sean HennBench:Miguel Cairo - great defensively at 2B, 3B, SS, and 1stJose Tabata - Minor leaguer who kills the ball, can play all three positionsRandom Catcher, Wil Nieves is fine, to back up PosadaEither a 5th outfielder, or another infielder, hitterRivera is still great, but showing igns of slowing, Cox is his heir apparent, with blazing stuff and a greatr mindset for a closer. Proctor and Farnsworth both seem to be comfortable as setup, but not closers. Vizcaino is great when he has rest. Myers is one of my favs. Henn has been good in relief. Cairo is great off the bench and versatile. Tabata is great, and will replace Abreu soon. Wil Nieves is fine as a backup.
