Not sure about this move. He is signed through next season. Don't know who they traded for him. Maybe Hicks?
 
Per the ESPN Trade Article it was "not clear" who the D-Backs got in return. Glad to see these trades happening. I guess maybe Steinbrenner got really miffed beyond belief when he saw the Yankees lose to the Friday Night. . This morning the local Bay News Nine was talking about the Rays winning streak.
 
Not a fan of a team who trades a player and then later trades to get that same player back.

Big concern with Clippard is (1) he's a fly ball pitcher & (2) he gives up many HRs.
 
I see your point on that Cage, but as much movement going on with personnel in this day and age it's bound to happen with more frequency.
 
clippard warming the setup role till heller and the other kid are ready to take over there. traded campos a 24 year old pitcher with mediocre numbers. No big loss.

Better Clippard did NOT play w/Bosox, otherwise he'd have to be branded and hung as a Traitor of the utmost proportions...:smiley-whip::smiley-elektro:
