Really interested to see what Tanaka does tonight.

A third poor outing from Tanaka would indicate to me that something is broke and needs to be fixed sooner than later. And yep the offense is going to have to crank up and to hell with this guys out or that guys out just knuckle down, grind and get it done.

No one can convince me that the Tanaka that signed with us would give up a 6 run lead. Enough with the bullshit that nothing is wrong.

Even if it's a matter of changing his motion which effects his command that's a problem. We shall see.

Whatever it is he's only 26. Still young enough to get the problem fixed.

I don't think the issue is physical in terms of injury. I think its a combination of mental (he's still tweaking with his stuff) and adapting to the mound (shape, surface, etc). Looking at fangraphs, I'm not seeing anything jumping out in terms of major changes in terms of velocity, but there is a shift in his median horizontal release point, and a subtle elevation of his fastball & sinker/split. Rob is the biomechanics expert, but I suspect the release point shift is related to him elevating pitches and getting contact where he did not last year. I'll also make the assumption that the more neutral horizontal release point is less pronated and putting less torque/strain on the elbow/forearm.

They aren't letting him pitch hurt, so these changes are things he's doing to get 'comfortable'. His injury was a heck of a scare, think to the first time any of you got hurt and realized you were not bullet or bomb proof. I'm gonna make the bet that he will soon be more comfortable putting strain on his arm than getting shelled week after week. We've seen this from other big league pitchers, and japanese are notoriously conservative...I'm expecting him to have a solid second half.

^^^this...I think he throwing while trying not to get hurt...not a good combination.

What are you basing this on?
Did you speak with any doctors or Yankee management?
Is it IMPOSSIBLE for a healthy Tanaka to give up a 6 run lead......
...is if IMPOSSIBLE for ANY PITCHER to give up a 6 run lead?

Can a HEALTHY SP pitcher surrender a 6 run lead?....is it humanly possible?
Just what the fuk are you basing this FEELING on?

Looks like someone is either off there meds or drinking way to early in the day.:crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::crazy::MARIS61::MARIS61::MARIS61::MARIS61::MARIS61::MARIS61::MARIS61:

Curse of Blg, every time he crows about first place, one of our better pitchers get shelled.

I agree with 59. The proof is that they are making contact on all his pitches. When he is right, he misses bats the majority of the time.

Tanaka I like...this guy Taknockedaround, not so much.

bottom four of the order gonna have to come up big today.

So you lose a series to Boston, get swept by Cleveland, don't worry the Yankees are available to be Uncle Sucker. Not a bad line from Tanaka I guess but the offense chokes again. The Big Donkey pitches game three, get prepared for another series loss unless a miracle occurs.

On a humorous note tonight the Angels are beating the hell out of Junkie Josh and the Rangers!!!!!!!!!!!!!

^^^the Angels have been in slumber pretty much all year...I would not be surprised if they make a splash before the trade deadline,

Tex slumping now hurts. Just a middle of the lineup hole.

Don't know where Rumbelow came from did a nice job of cleaning up honky CCs mess.

Gardy I don't know how you take that 3-2 pitch.

Tying run to the plate. It would be time for Tex to blast out of this slump.
