This team lost their guts against the Red Sox in 2004. Still haven't recovered.

damned that was painful. Had to explain to my wife why I can fkng stand Dave Roberts, ... (tho' she watched that damned epic event of a shitfk series)...

If you Google Joe Girardi you get a Joe Girardi on Twitter result. You can then see all the related tweets.

I'll look it up Rob, but like Vic said it is pretty fucking funny. :biglaugh:

Thank You Lil'...! :tiphat:

Gardner's making a habit out of watching a perfect strike 3 go by, w/out an offering. WTF- I've never cared for Gardner. Rubber fkng arm, is not a gold glove capable fielder, can't fkng hit w/men on base, can't steal a base. To think the dumbfk brothers (H&H, & BC) gave him a raise, of which he's still not worthy of...

Honorable Mention to: Former Boston Jokeoby Ellsbury AKA to me as Goober. 0/4 today allegedly as a Yankee.

Dellin throws away game onw

Warren throws away game three

Preview of coming attractions: CC up tomorrow, check his record against Boston since he became a Yankee and pray.

...people can blame the coach all they want and assume that things would have ended differently but the fact of the matter is that Girardi has done a very good job getting this team this far with the garbage he was given to manage...his moves simply are not going to work out every single time.

He's done a good job but he has had a hideous week. Layne for Warren has blown up in his face twice. He's back to that binder managing instead of having a feel for the game.

a tweet in Spanish by a Bosox fan-

"Soy de Boston , pero mis respetos para el manager de los yankees joe girardi , a llegado bien lejos con un equipo muy disminuido".

translated:
"I'm from Boston, but my respect for yankees manager Joe Girardi to come away with a good team greatly diminished".

I'll go on record again with this Girardi knows his team better than anyone.

...^^^
I don't have a prob with Joe myself. Tho' I'd say his head seems in the an odd place this last week. I certainly can't and won't blame Joe for players bad performances...

his questionable use of the bullpen, IMO, is not questionable, when he's been given a questionable BP since the TD. Letting 2 of the top Reliever's in MLB go, is going to have fall out, ramifications, or utter devastation in any BP, regardless of who he goes to.

and- yeah the Starter's have put too much on the BP, not necessarily by Joe pulling guys off the mound prior to 6 IP, prior to meltdowns. Our starters are: Tank, Tank and more Tank. I still have hope in Severino, and will give him another year to find his groove...

Betances may be in over his head at times, but whatcha' gonna do otherwise until the "Plan" Revision 10 can come to fruition in years to come....and one can't have their cake and eat it too??? I wan't both...!

It is rare if I'd blame Girardi, but Thursday's over management was an
eye sore. It is so true that given the players Trashman has given him,
Girardi has done damn well in keeping the team as close to a playoff position
as they have been. The kids are learning as they play. I'm all for this.
It is the experienced, elders on this team that have been a complete
disaster in letting the team down.

Well the trades were the easy part. The harder part is getting rid of some of the veterans contracts. Ellsbury they look stuck with but they have to trade Gardner this winter and hopefully somebody is still interested in McCann.

...folks, the point I'm making is that a month or two ago we were all for the Yanx being sellers because they were not going anywhere anyway and we were prepared for mortgaging today for a more promising future...and as much as I like Sanchez, he does not offset the loss of Miller, Chapman, and Beltran.

...pointing fingers now when we were already prepared for a lost season makes no sense.

I took a gander over at the Reddit board and there's that old Red Sox troll Pettycade trolling over there. I don't know if anyone remembers him from the ESPN days. The fact that is a grown man acting that way is disturbing but that's what you get with the faceless internet.

I can understand that point of view but it shouldn't give everyone a free pass.

...not giving anyone a free pass but the focus seems to be on the perceived shortcomings of the coach instead of the roster the coach was given to begin with and players poor performance when called upon.

...I cannot think of any other coach who realistically could have done any better with the roster Girardi was given.

...is he the same ass hat that used to post as "Godsbury" among other screen names?

...after all these years, Red Sox fans in general are just as neurotic about the Yanx as they ever were.

...I was looking at the standings and doing the "what if" thing in my head....the Yanx have lost 4 in a row but if they had won those 4 games there would now be a 4 way tie for the division lead with the Yanx, O's, Jays, and Sox all with records of 81-67.

...how interestingly cool would that be?

I was actually considering the nightmare of another Red Sox vs Mets World Series.

...lol...that WOULD be a nightmare...especially for NY locals.

I had Mets fan buddies texting me late after Granderson's homers. Fn annoying already.

...the Mets...NY's red headed step child.

Rusty Staub day would be appropos- nah, he's got no hair now...

Maybe Chumpster will die his hair Orange if the Mets make it to the Series, great PR opportunity...?
