On the DL ....tendonitis on his wrist....maybe forearm.
MRI negative on his elbow.

trashman says he'll be out at least a month. Severino anybody?

It's not the elbow but hopefully this isn't a precursor for things to come with Tanaka.

cashmere says this could be precursor for tj surgery. Might as well have it and get it over with already

They're just delaying the inevitable. The surgery could've been done last year.

You know life isn't fair when Tanaka goes down & the Tub stays in the rotation pitching to his winless near 6 ERA.

Just watch the next day or two. It will be wrist, forearm and then finally something about the elbow.

I think Mitchell or Montgomery will get the call.
Okay guys....let's deal with.....we're probably going to find something out about ONE of our young starters....maybe two.

But Whitley is also probably going to stay....the more the league sees of him the higher his ERA skyrockets.....jeez, I hope he makes me eat my words.

And I don't believe Cashman will trade away the farm for Hamel or any other veteran SP.
Of course there's nothing wrong with making a deal to fill a hole if you feel desperate and I don't see Cashman panicking and trading away a couple of top prospects.

Help is on the way.....either from Scranton and/or Trenton.

They can manage fine as long as Tanaka isn't a long term thing .

I may be crazy, but there's a fair chance one of the call-ups (Mitchell/Montgomery) could be quite adequate and if this team can continue to score all season close to what they're currently doing ...that provides good protection and help for the SP.

They lost Tanaka last year, came within 4 or so games of a WC spot with a horrible offense.

And maybe even Nova returns in good form.
Yes, this could still be a very entertaining and gratifying season.

Why don't I trust Cash-ban? The way he operates, he should do the surgery......
then we know Tanaka will be out the whole year. SOB.

The SOB mentions that Capuano will be a good replacement. OMG.
He just makes me ill.

Shane Greene deal never should have been done, specially since they weren't resigning McCarthy and were gonna give Drew a contract.

When did Shane Greene turn into an established top of the rotation guy?
I wasn't informed....ah sh!t.

We knew that Tanaka was probably on shaky grounds. What I'd like to know is where the hell the Yankee medical and training staff on the mans condition?????? But as we look around the sports news we've noticed that pitchers are dropping like flies. So here's the gig, the team will have to step up and start filling voids starting with the 20 million non producing slug. Cashman will have to THINK a possible good solution to see the situation through. I too will state that the Greene deal should not have been done, the kid showed great promise was appreciated by the fans and the dumbasses traded him for a SS whom at this time has shown little value.

Greene 3.00
Eovaldi 4.15
McCarthy 5.87

Gregorius .224
Jones .185

It's going to take a lot longer to know what Greene is. The deal does not look good at the moment but that can change in a week. Sure, would be nice to have Greene right now.

The Pineda/Montero deal took well over a year to figure if there was a "winner." Answer seems to be clear now. Theses deals for younger players just take time to evaluate.

...Dombrowski is a much better evaluator of talent than Cashman and a better GM than Cashman...he's proven that many times over.

You'd think the guy would learn how to build a bullpen over the years. It's held them back and will cost them as their window closes. Remember that ALCS they had all but won against Boston?

Update: Greene not having a solid outing today.

...lol...Yanx also had an ALCS all but won vs the Sox.

...Yanx also got bounced from the PS by Dombrowski's Tigers in 2006, 2011, and 2012.

...Tigers roster > Yankees roster

...Dombrowski > Cashman
