Yanks were 17- 15 after 32 games last year....3 games worse than this year's 20-12.
But here's something interesting -imo- to ponder.

Last year, after 32 games (17-15) , the Yanks went on to have a 67-63 record the rest of the season. That's four games over .500 the rest of the way.

Just thought I'd toss that out there for the heck of it.
Let the games CONTINUE!

There's a long way to go. Nobody has ever won anything in May. Now another four game series against a team inside the division.

Yes, a long way to go.....many/any team can win 8,9,10 games in a row and take over the division standings depending on what the "leaders" do over the same stretch.
This can happen within any 10 day stretch over a 6 month season which makes baseball a different animal compared to the other sports.

But I must admit, barring a bunch of injuries (of course) , I'm sorta expecting this Yankee team to go on and win a few more games than last year's 67-63.

Easier said than done...but the math, at this point seems reasonable. imo

Good stuff. Let's enjoy this portion of the ride.

GO Yanks!

...hey, there's something new.

Well, the "new"' part of it would have Yanks winning at least 3(?) more games over the next 130 games as compared to last year(?).

Of course we're all aware of the ups and downs of a 162 schedule as I pointed out in the first post, but " we" (imo) shouldn't be discouraged or pessimistic in believing this team can't or won't win at least 70 more games the rest of the way...which will give them a very respectable final record and probably in a good position to qualify for a playoff spot.

Maybe the Yanks will finish in LAST place....but I think it IS more realistic and reasonable AS WE SPEAK, to be more "optimist" in believing this team can go 70-60 the rest of the way.

I know this can be called "cherry picking" stats but I just happen to believe and expect a 70-60 record the rest of the way isn't unreasonable or being a homerific cheer leader.

Comments from the reg "boarders" and any other baseball fans are welcome.

Far to many unforeseen events can happen that could derail this team in a hurry. These topics are best discussed coming out of the dog days. Enjoy the ride. We post one game at a time. Were just happy to be here and contribute to the board.

I'm baffled how Cashman's idiotic moves have played out well to date... There's still plenty of time, but I'm surprised, but very glad to see them doing as well as they have.

Sounds good and true - Amen.

I know you're not talking about the hot bats of Gregorius, Jones & Drew.
