Yo Quick, tell us how you really feel!!

Twardzik, gross, neal, Steele, and Hollins were all mediocre players.
On a Championship team, one which the Blazers were trying to keep some sort of attachment to over some pretty bleak seasons.

Does anyone have a timeline of when each jersey was retired?

Sure, I get it. They contributed to a title. That doesn't mean they weren't mediocre players, however.

Neal, 79
Twardzik/Steele/Petrie, 81
Lucas, 87
Walton, 89
Ramsay, 93
Drexler, 00
Hollins, 07
Porter/Gross, 08

Yeah, for sure. Side note: My dad still talks about how Gross would come out of the game and light up a cigarette right there on the bench.

The chain of events that took place. Trading for Felton was making a trade for a possible pgotf in Felton. Then Felton managed to get Camby and Wallace to buy into his mutiny on Nate.

This forced the franchise to get rid of Wallace because he quit on Nate and the team. We chose Lillard because we didn't have the pg if the future.

The "mutiny" fiction that you alone push is an invention of "columnist" Quick. I'll trust the experienced opinions of Camby, Wallace, Andre Miller, Felton, etc. anyday over a rookies-only coach like McMillan and the couldn't-survive-in-any-other-city Quick.

This is the worst moderating in the history of Western Civilization.

LOL. I agree. I even tipped them off that the might have already been posted. But maybe it was buried in a thread, rather then getting it's own thread. I mean, this board needs to be bursting at the seams with extra threads, in honor of the return of Fatty McFattersloot.

I know what you mean. I took a nap this rainy, moody morning, with full confidence that one of these aircraft carrier-slow ignoramuses would finally merge the threads in my absence. When I awoke, I eagerly warmed up the vacuum tubes, impatient for my computer screen to alight. How flabbergasted I was to discover that in the biggest oversight of the new millennium, rivaling the previous one's having to repeat Leif Ericcson's discovery, no busy moderator had found the put-down-your-Frito-bag time to merge the threads. Disgusting.

Who's Leif Ericson?

Good opinion piece from Quick and spot on. And I've rarely said that over the years.

However, Felton got us Maynor, but how did he get us Lillard? I thought Gerald Wallace got us Lillard?

He explained it in the article. If Felton played well, the team wouldn't have blown up the team and traded Wallace.

Yeah It's pretty widely acknowledged that the Blazers are a little over zealous when retiring numbers.

Pretty much. Kinda embarrassing to have two of the same # retired. If the first # was so good and had to be retired, it should have been done before the other dude got it.

I shudder to think of another situation where we pass on a PG in the draft because of our perceived PGotF. Sebastian Telfair all over again if we would have kept Felton and passed on Lillard. (Maybe not so much but still)

Ericson, Ericcson, Erickson, Ericsön, Ericsøn, Ericsõn, Ericsœn, Ericsòn, Ericsën, Ericsên, Êrïç§ôñ wow, this Blackberry has capabilities I've never tried. Just hold the button a second.

I have a friend with a variation of that last name that you didn't list.

Petteri Koponen is directly related to Eric the Red.

Frankly, I'm over Felton. Have been since the Blazers blew it all up nearly one year ago today. Really, I have nothing but sadness for him.

Right, Quick. You're clearly not over him, and you clearly have made this personal. What a joke of an article.

So Jason Quick took a nap this morning is what you're saying.

Regardless, he's far more "over it" than Ray. He's not even a top-tier PG, and even national writers are calling him out on his behavior on his return to PDX.

The national media get their opinions from local media.

I've never read 2 writers who are as much jackasses as Quick and Canzano. Not even close.

I've said it before--the Oregonian wants to own the team without paying for it. They get mad when their orders aren't obeyed. In 40 years and 3 NBA markets (Los Angeles, Seattle, here), I've never read NBA writers with egos like this.

How in the world anyone in their right mind can think players like Gross, Twardzik, Neil, Hollins and Steele

9/3apg/4
9/3 in 4 seasons
11/7rpg
13/4.5apg 4.5 seasons
8/3/3

Wow, some of you are have very low standards.

I agree, can't stand either one and it's a shame the national media feeds off of their shit. They are so unprofessional and usually have a axe to grind in their stories and only tells the part that they are on instead both sides of the story.
