Inevitable, unsustainable.

Santa Barbara is one of my very favorite places. Beautiful Sea, lovely climate, but it became so expensive, no one that must work for a living can live there. The workers drive from Oxnard and they don't build houses there either. No water.

It's funny to check the place out as the years pass. I have been going there with a boat for over 40 years. I call it the House line. That is the top line of elevation on the surrounding hills that are built on. It gets higher noticeably, about every five years.

We need to build a wall.

The wall will not work.

The Californians will hire illegal immigrants to dig a tunnel under your wall.

The Mexican drug cartels have been digging tunnels under the wall in San Diego, for decades. They have the most experienced tunnel diggers in the world on their payroll.

Hawaii has the right idea, make the volcanoes spew lava so more land will be created, more land means more space for people to live.

We should create a Bandon Loves Californians website.

It might be true if you took a vote. There may indeed be more Californians than any other State here. I know it would absolutely be true that there are more people from other states and countries in our neighborhood, than Oregonians. Ha! I think it is a good thing too.

This topic reminds me of a very old beer commercial run on Oregon tv stations. Believe it was when Tom McCall was gov.

Its starts with an Oregon check station at their border, similar to the Ca check stations looking for fruits and veggies entering their state.

A car with Ca plates is checked. The owner explains he is on business to develop the Oregon coast. The enforcement officers explain that is a misdemeanor offense.

He then mentions he has some Ca beer. Then is told that offense is a felony.

The commercial was a lot funnier than I can tell it.

The only problem is they forgot how to get it to stop

We’ll try to scare them away with the threat of the impending “Big One” and they’ll be like, “And?”
