NY Daily News: Alain Vigneault said Thursday on WFAN that right wing Mats Zuccarello, who hasn’t played since Game 5 of the first round after taking a puck to the left side of his head, is “starting to work out,” his first public comments on Zuccarello’s status since the injury.
Asked directly about Zuccarello’s availability for the Eastern Conference Finals, Vigneault — who said he was keeping his “fingers crossed” — added “there’s always hope.”

This is great. No way he's even thinking about it if he wasnt symptom free. I'm glad a lot of the speculation around the severity of this turned out to be false. I apologize for my partin spreading that...it appears he did have very severe initial symptoms (couldnt remember his name, etc.) and a game of telephone ensued based off of that.

If we can get him back later this series, it would be a huge lift for the team mentally as well as offensively.

All the more reason to get back to the SCF..so Zucc can suit up in the playoffs. That would be cool.

I want to see the Hobbit speeding in on Bishop 6'7" with
a whoop-de-doo and roof it into the net. GOAL!

YEAH BABY! :ghoti:

If this team wins Lundqvist will be the Conn Smythe winner. Nobody is going
To dominate on offense. We need different guys to step on offense. Last round it was really Fast, Stepan and Kreider, the round before that it was Hayes, Hages, and Brassard. Hopefully this round it is Yandle,Nash, and MSL

9:19AM: Pierre McGuire said on Boomer and Carton that if the series goes deep “maybe” Zuccarello could play but not early in the series. (WFAN)

This thing goes 6....we get Zucc back...:)...maybe game 5.

BTW...Boyle practiced. So he should be good to go. Glass maintenance day.

Not sure Pierre is the go-to guy for stuff like this but either way I'll take it.

I'm having visions of the Rangers coming home for game 5, with Zucc making his triumphant return, on home ice, and starting the game, with the crowd yelling Zuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuc while Joe Tollefson announces him over the PA system before the puck drops.

PS the Rangers are up 3-1 in this vision of mine

Which makes sense that he could be back later in the series. If he has to skate and practice still that would be a week or so. A week from today is game 4. So game 5 or 6 does make sense.
