NY Daily News: Alain Vigneault said Thursday on WFAN that right wing Mats Zuccarello, who hasn’t played since Game 5 of the first round after taking a puck to the left side of his head, is “starting to work out,” his first public comments on Zuccarello’s status since the injury.
Asked directly about Zuccarello’s availability for the Eastern Conference Finals, Vigneault — who said he was keeping his “fingers crossed” — added “there’s always hope.”
This is great. No way he's even thinking about it if he wasnt symptom free. I'm glad a lot of the speculation around the severity of this turned out to be false. I apologize for my partin spreading that...it appears he did have very severe initial symptoms (couldnt remember his name, etc.) and a game of telephone ensued based off of that.
If we can get him back later this series, it would be a huge lift for the team mentally as well as offensively.
