I am not the biggest Nurk fan on this board, and even I thought he looked good in January. So no IMO he has not diminished his trade value. The better question is .....has he ever had any?
Of course he had. There are rumors some were willing to give Mason Plumlee and a 2nd round pick for him.
First half of january he looked good, but he's been pretty bad the past couple weeks. Since 1/17, he's averaged 8/6 and 3 fouls in 20mpg on 44% shooting (10/7 in 23mpg on 45% shooting if you exclude the 2 minutes against Memphis).
That would be crazy!!! Imagine trading plumlee for nurk, then trading nurk for plumlee a few years later!!! That would be just nuts!!! Lol.
Maybe but 3 games ago he had a monster game. Albeit it was against SA with no center. But still, that stat line was great 10-14, 2-4 from three, 11 rebounds, 7 assists, 3 steals....that would not hurt his trade value
Actually i was thinking of a 3 team trade with Dallas and Utah We get Vanderbilt and Olynyk Dallas gets Nurk, Beasley Utah gets Bertans,Bullock,Watford an unprotected 1st from Dallas
the differential between Nurk & Plumlee's salary is too much and I don't see realistic deals between the two teams that can bridge the gap while keeping Portland under the tax line Plumlee is a limited player but he does a lot of things well. More than that, he is much more consistent than Nurkic. He's an expiring contract and will be 33 this summer. But I kind of like the thought of exchanging Nurk's 18M/year deal this summer for Plumlee + Eubanks at 10-11M/year Nurk + Winslow for Plumlee + Oubre (who is injured right now) works but it puts Portland 2M over the tax line. Adding Keon keeps Portland out of the tax but it's a risk because Winslow & Keon are the only two 'backup' PG's on the roster so then, how many here would say yes to Nurk + Winslow + Keon for Plumlee + Oubre?
Hmm not familiar with oubre but if he could fill the keon and Winslow minutes? I think we still need an ogre for those games against joker and the other larger centers. But that can be with an mle or vet min or something. Bring back whiteside as a backup backup?
This is silly. I know Drew is fun to watch, and has some great blocks, but he is just not a center. He can move better than Nurk and certainly jump better than Nurk, but he's worse on both offense and defense. Unless your plan is to be the Westhead Nuggets, Nurk should start when healthy.
