Sounds like a season-ending injury for Ivey…if the Pistons are aiming for the playin/playoffs, Ant could be a good patch, especially with his outside shooting. They don’t have many big salaries, but Ant for Ausar/Hardaway probably works. Pistons lose a young prospect, but they just drafted Holland at forward too. Seems in the realm of reasonable.

Yeah, that was more of an aside. I don't expect any of their values to increase. But maybe if Grant were fighting for playing time he'd have incentive to get a few rebounds.

Sacramento is getting desperate. I would try sending them Grant for Huerter ( 1 more year) and Lyles (ending contract) plus a first.
We also decrease our salary cap by almost 5 million. Not sure that works but ESPn Trade machine says it does.

Grant is not really what they should be looking for.

I wouldn't be interested in Ausar. He's not as good as Amen and is a worse shooter. I think the last 8-9 seasons in Portland have shown that a bad-shooting wing is not much of an asset unless they are elite at a couple of other things. Ausar isn't

I'd shoot for Simons for Hardaway+Beasely+lottery protected 1st. I'd settle for a little less because both players are on expiring contracts

What are they looking for...that they can afford? A rebounding PF who can score? Those are hard to come by.

Agree. We are set with wings who can defend but can't shoot. As much as fans here hyped him last year after a good start, I am not sure he is better than Murray, let alone Camara or Deni.

I like your version better, and agree with Pinwheel, we’re all set at SF with Deni/TC. A Hardaway+Beasely+FRP would be a great return.

Detroit owes a pick that is protected until 2027. So the earliest unencumbered pick they can send is 2029.

It was just me throwing it out myself to add a late pick to move Grant out, but only if an expiring contract comes back. Portland could get a pick eventually doing what OKC did with CP3 if Cronin and Vulcans know what to do and how to do it. No rumors or anything, just me pining to get rid of Grant.

Detroit is a really interesting trade partner because they have around 14M in cap space. So they could send us as little as 12M in salary and take Ant's full salary in return. That gives them and anyone they trade with a lot of flexibility.

They're not giving up on Ausar that quickly (and I don't want Ron Holland) so this is probably the best we could expect:

It actually works without Fontecchio because of Detroit's caproom, but they probably don't want to do that.

They have. Cade and Ivey so I don't think they want Simons

Ant is my number one priority to get off of our roster but Jerami isn't far behind. I hope neither has negative value and think there are probably a few teams that would see either guy as having some positive value... not a lot but probably a little. Ayton however might be harder to move but I don't really mind him staying if we can get a decent return for Timelord.

Yeah, I was just responding to a post that said because it looks like Ivey is out for the season that maybe they would want Ant... I don't really know what having Cade would have to do with not wanting Ant because I think they're very different and complementary players but I get what you're saying about Ivey, in the long run. Ant and Ivey are pretty redundant.

I think our most promising current trade partner has got to be SACRAMENTO given that they managed both to can their coach AND piss off their star (because he's getting blamed for the firing) so they're probably pretty desperate to WIN NOW.
    So...
    upload_2025-1-2_14-23-28.png
Getting Carter might be a stretch, but he is injured and they do want to WIN NOW...
Actually, given their size, they could probably actually use Reath:
