New Mexico sophomore wing Chad Adams has been suspended for the first four games of next season and removed from scholarship this summer following a drinking and driving incident, coach Steve Alford announced Wednesday. Adams' four-game ban will consist of two exhibition games and two regular-season games. The Albuquerque Journal reported Adams was arrested Sunday for DWI at the scene of an accident and also faces charges of careless driving and having a suspended driver's license. "I am extremely disappointed in the poor judgment shown by Chad," Alford said in a statement. "Decisions like his don't just affect him, but it could potentially impact the health of many others. We take this very seriously. Players know when they get on campus what is expected of them, and if they don't meet expectations there are consequences they have to deal with."
