Don’t disagree that we are reading too much into it. But I also don’t think it absolves that much pressure in NJ. It’s a freaking G7, win or go home. Pressure for both teams. Prob even more so with Boston out.
Agreed - no matter how you cut it, or what you say, you are playing in a game 7, at home as well, and there will be some level of pressure. I do think it is lesser on the Devs given their circumstances, but it is there. No one wants to lay an egg, or lose in that situation. I also think Boston being out does make it that much more important. I truly cannot see either of these teams losing to the Canes, so I think it is Toronto as the team that stands between you and the SCF for the winner tonight. Toronto is good, and can score with any team, but it isn't as daunting as seeing the Bruins out there. And out West you have Vegas, Edmonton, and Dallas. Vegas and Edmonton maybe being the best two teams, and they play each other in round 2. So another top team goes out. The West is wide open also with the Avs out. So yeah, no doubt this is a year you want to survive round 1 with everything open. # 1 record setting team, and defending champs, and 3 time defending East champs all out. That's what makes tonight so huge for the Rangers - it is truly all there. Get by this game and they have as good a shot as any team to win the Cup. They aren't on par with Toronto, Vegas, Edmonton, and Dallas - they sure are, and they only need to beat one of the West three teams. Lose tonight and it's an epic failure season.
Score first...score second...score all fucking night long... Make this night a teaching lesson to these kiddie debbies... It's time to put up or shut up... Time for Z to show why he was a MVP candidate..time for Bread to have another game 7 gem... Time for Adam Fox to find his inner Brian Leetch... It's time to END THEIR FUCKING SEASON!
