Chuck has been talking a lot of smack against us (some deservingly so), but anyways, let's show him how Rip City rolls. Wear as much red as possible for tomorrow's game...facepaint, t-shirts, socks..whatever. It'll look awesome on tv. For those skeptical it won't work, it's already being pushed on both facebook and twitter and I heard Rice mention it during his game day chalk talk yesterday.
Its not really that. Comments like that don't bother me at all. What does bother me, is that we could be blowing out the Magic by 20 and during halftime there would be no mention of the Blazers it will be all about how the Magic are doing everything wrong. Now they might have a point, but in the past couple 50 win seasons I'd see this on a regular basis.
As we have seen before with these RED OUT events, they don't really work unless the team hands out red towels or shirts.
I agree. He's dismissive of the Blazers pretty regularly... which happened even when they were good. Ed O.
So has most of the national press for as long as I have been a Blazer fan. What else is new? Every time the Blazers even start being good the media tries to find chinks in the Blazers to report on, and pretty much reports nothing else. Hell I don't know how many times I watched sportscenter to only find out they didn't even show any Blazer highlights when there game came up, even though there were indeed highlights.
This is true. It's easy for a group of fans to want to do a "Red Out", but unless the team (or a sponsor) provides shirts or towels, most fans aren't going to do it. There'd be a smattering of Red, but not a lot. They should do a "Pink out" for Breast Cancer Awareness, now that'd be cool. (no green font)
