There have been nights when Nurk was ~the best player on the floor and unstoppable on either end. I think everyone, Nurk included, wants to see more of that.
Ok, I’m sitting at soccer training now. What I got on the drive over here off the radio via the local talker here, John Gambodoro (Gambo) is; His sources say that a Lillard trade is imminent and could be any moment or day. The structure is there. Teams are working to get in as third, fourth, etc… The Nurk/Ayton angle is real. Does not have to be part of the Dane trade but it would make it easier and the Suns want to see what other teams are willing to bring to the deal. So to me (my opinion now) Ayton is not the target in the Dane deal, Suns just trying to get in. Gambo said the Suns like Nurk as a player that will accept a lesser role, love his passing, his rebounding and say he plays good defense. They know that Ayton is the better prospect and younger but a change needs to be made. The Suns are not stuck on winning the trade, they are looking for fit. If I hear more I’ll add it here. Gambo is a very well connected talker here, in all sports. He is connected to players and management. He is not a shit thrower and is technologicaly illiterate. He is not a click baiter. He just passes along what he is hearing or being told. His show starts at 2:00 here and his partner was solo first five minutes today as Gambo was working the phones as the show started. All I have for now, cheers.
I'm afraid that the beast will have left the building by this time tomorrow. I wish him well. I really liked a lot of things about Nurk and wish his leg hadn't snapped off shortly after he got here. I think he's a good man off the court and a good teammate. Suns are said to have the best medical staff in the league for keeping players healthy so maybe Nurk will play more consistently down there
if Nurk thought he didn't see the ball enough playing with Dame & CJ, wait till he's playing with Booker, Durant, and Beal
I think he loves the city more than you do. He has talked about it at length and seemed pretty sincere about Portland as a home...who knows? Dame and Nurk might just be the next Steve Blake and Channing Frye living here and playing elsewhere. Evan Turner still summers in his house in Portland I've heard ...Robin Lopez spends a lot of time off season here. You might be right but I don't get that impression at all. I understand Nurk has a big circle of Bosnian friends living in Portland as well.
He also said that he see's Dame being traded in the next 24 hrs. He was right about Beal and Durant so we'll see.
I doubt that. If I was given the option of moving to any other NBA city over Portland, I'd pick Portland.
Just wait 1-2 years, fans will hate Ayton then just as they do Nurk now. Look at all the CJ haters, now they moved on to Ant hate. Swear fans enjoying hating the Blazers more than rooting for them.
I never hated CJ, and I don’t hate Anfernee. But CJ is better than Anfernee, and Ants inconsistencies has cost us a handful of games since the CJ trade. I’m not convinced it doesn’t have something to do with Dame being unhappy. Dame and CJ are close, and Ant is definitely a downgrade to CJ. Not even saying that trading CJ didn’t make sense. It’s the FO’s fault that we’ve had this horrid logjam in the backcourt.
You’re absolutely right. Ant just really doesn’t impact winning for whatever reason. Dame and Cj although never obviously winning a championship, we’re good. They technically won a lot of games together. Ant never really helped Dame win games like Cj did.
