Been there and it's amazing. I have no idea how people can climb it but they do. They come from Europe just to climb Smith Rock. You should be telling this.
When we visited out there a few weeks ago, we took the beautiful Historic Columbia River Scenic Byway. We were able to go up to Crown Point, although, there were signs that it was closed. We just followed the many other folks that had made their way up there. Was greatly disappointed that most of the falls were shut down. My wife had never seen Multnomah Falls and we were gonna take that short little walk up to the bridge for a pic. Next time.
Yes, next time. The falls have changed. There was a large chunk of rock that fell perhaps a decade ago. Don't know if you were here when it happened. It changed the falls a bit. The falls have been closed due to a horrific fire started by some young teenagers playing with fireworks in the brush. It's gonna be years before that returns to normal. Crown Point is the most gorgeous sight in the world that I've seen on a clear sunshine day. You really needed to add the Bonneville fish hatchery and Timberline Lodge to your itinerary for you wife's benefit.
Are you free this week and would like to join? I’m leaving it up to Jason to pick the day that works, so if you have one that works best for you and want to go let us know! Same goes to anyone else on the boards who wants to go, speak up. All-inclusive gathering!
We are looking at Labor Day Monday Sept 7. Chris, Jason, and myself so far. Haven’t talked about where to go yet. I can fit 4 in my car but the back seat is kind of cramped. We will figure out carpooling and all of that before too long. Please bring a mask, if you don’t have one I can provide a clean one for you! @Darkwebs @Strenuus Tagging you 2 specifically; but again if anyone would like to join just say so! @SlyPokerDog same goes for you and your other half!
Thanks for the invite my man but Monday's are usually a no go for me. Enjoy it, though! Soooo much to see!
Good God, are you saying that the Sly we've been putting up with all these years has another half, as in twice the trouble? Inconceivable!
