<div class="quote_poster">LBJ2006MVP Wrote</div><div class="quote_post">Right now Kobe stands at 3 in my book. He used to be at 6 Dwayne Wade just because he won the title last year. LeBron James Kobe Bryant Dirk Nowitzki Steve Nash Tim Duncan Allen Iverson Kevin Garnett Gilbert Arenas Carmelo Anthony Michael Jordan of the Chicago Bulls The man they call "Air Jordan" was very simply the game's most dominant force in the 80's and 90's and very well may be the greatest ever to play the game. Jordan's many notable accomplishments include six championships, five MVP awards, six NBA Finals MVP awards, 10-time All-NBA First Team selections, nine-time All-NBA First Defensive Team selection and 11 NBA All-Star Games. Jordan's honors could take up the entire SMR and the highlights could run for hours and hours. When it comes to Jordan and his game, the word "amazing" isn't enough. His place in the game is permanently etched at the top and his retirement may have come too soon for fans. Jordan left the NBA as one of the greatest, if not the greatest, to ever play the game and it will stay that way for a long time.</div> I agree with shape. That list is horrible....
oh well thats my opinion. I have question to Lakers fan's ...would you wanna see Kobe jacking up 100 or Winning a title. By the way it looks now the more he jacks up the more happier you're. And looking at Heat when Wade went down Eddie Jones stepped up... they didn't have him before.
I'd rank the top 10 like this (currently) 1. Wade - takes it relentlessly to the basket, plays hard everynight, and is one of the biggest clutch performers that I've ever seen...the Heat struggled earlier on in the year, but they also had a lot of injuries (Shaq,Williams, etc.) 2. Kobe - most dynamic offensive player in the game 3. Lebron - wish he'd show a little more "killer instinct" and improve his FT and midrange game, but besides that the dude runs the show 4. Nash - imo should be winning his 3rd straight MVP 5. Dirk - great pure shooter, BUT his lack of clutch play still worries me 6. Duncan - numbers are down, but the guy still gets it done 7. Yao - if he would've remained healthy for the entire season he'd probably be MVP 8. K.G. - similar to Duncan he gets it done, too bad he doesn't have anyone around him 9. ??? 10. ??? I'll just say Tmac,Arenas, etc. can be mentioned in these spots.

I'm not going to lie, I like watching Kobe score a lot, but I'd take 0 points from him and a Laker title anyday. I'm a fan of the team first. Unfortunately, the Lakers are so bad defensively, they need Kobe to score a lot of points inorder to win games. The Lakers have made some adjustments and teams don't know which route to take when Kobe is scoring this well. Last night, Byron Scott tried double teaming Kobe later in the game, but it just opened the offense up for the other players and eventually led to two wide open dunks by Kwame. So Scott just stuck with his original strategy of hoping Kobe would eventually go cold and focus on stopping everyone else.

When Kobe doesn't have to contain himself in the first half, I'd say he's easily the best player in today's game.

He does have the potential to be in the top 10 alltime though - ONE day. I think if you put Nash on the Cavs instead of LeBron they'd have as good a record or maybe better. And I have to agree with Wade as #1, he is the closest to Jordan since Jordan.

Kobe in this latter half of the season (now that he's healthy and unchained) is the best player.

Defined as: If I had to win 7 games and could build a team around 1 guy, Kobe would NOT be my #1 choice. Wade and Nash would be definitely ahead of him. But I'd take Kobe over Dirk, Duncan, KG, etc., so I guess he's No. 3. But he is the most unstoppable scorer in the league, not just now, but probably EVER.

He doesn't have the PER or rings over Kobe... I'd take Kobe but it's a close call (not when Kobe's on fire though, I'd easily pick him...).

I've def. seen him get "rattled" in pressure situations, usually in the last few seconds. However, Dirk can be counted on to get 10 or 12 in the 4th quarter in almost any arena against almost anyone. That's hardly the definition of a disappearing act. Then the last 2 minutes, you want Jason Terry to make the clutch basket because like you say once it gets really down to it, Dirk can get rattled. (so can Tim Duncan). But without that push from Dirk in the first 10 minutes of the quarter, can JT make his big shot? For that same reason I think Rip Hamilton doesn't get enough of the credit that Chauncey gets for all his big shots that are usually set up by a run of 8 points and several trips to the line by Rip.

When he missed FTs against Phoenix last week he said he didn't sleep for a couple of nights and in the past coaches have said that he lets the emotional aspect of the game get to him too much.

Yao Ming 4. Shaq O'Neal 5. Kevin Garnett

I don't know about "easily", I can see why you would, but Wade is as clutch and dominant as they come when it comes to "must wins"
