Our thanksgiving is usually a big event. 1 large ham, 3 turkeys and many sides. We are cooking our turkeys like this: 1.) rotisserie with Cajun spices 2.) smoked with a smoke chicken and butter rub 3.) traditional oven roasted with butter and herbs I absolutely love Thanksgiving!
I took Denny's advice and got the iGrill probe. I absolutely love it btw! Here is the smoker And the turkey in the smoker!
I don't know, I'm in charge of making the stove top stuffing per the packaging instructions. I think it's just traditional oven roasted, I hate turkey though. Have a good one.
Remember, Zags. There are no bad Thanksgiving dishes. Only bad people who don't appreciate every dish
Both look really good. I'm used to Apple pie similar to the one you made, but the oats on your wife's apple pie probably fit really well texturally.
My usual day after Thanksgiving ridiculous feast. I do it all. Nibbles: Vegetable cheese dip, dried fruit chutney, crackers, crudites, cranberry punch (alcoholic or non) Salad: Winter greens from garden, poached pears, balsamic dressing Turkey: Spatchcocked* spice rubbed turkey with Cabernet gravy, crusty dressing Sides: Buttery mashed potatoes, sweet potato casserole, brocolini gratin, carrots with herb butter, Cabernet cranberry sauce, corn bread, biscuits Dessert: Cranberry streusel upside down cake with whipped cream, apple tart with caramel ice cream, pumpkin bourbon caramel tart Wine, sparkling cider Alka Seltzer * Spatchcocked - backbone removed and breastbone broken so turkey lies flat, cooks more evenly and all skin is crisp No MRAs or homophobes invited.
