Off Topic but Miami run was a pretty big fluke. Nobody expects them to really contend next year. At least i don't. Butler is going to regress sooner than later. Supporting cast ain't much. Hell, Blazers could be better than them IMO. Need some pieces.
Ant - OG seems like it would help both teams. Portland needs a bigger defender and Toronto seems to need a PG who can really stretch the floor and is a better scorer. However, Ujiri treats all of his players like prime Jordan and rivals Olshey in terms of overvaluing their players.
Would you put it past Cronin to make another worst possible trade ever imagined? Getting Ben Simmons works great for making the Blazers worse. He could fake an injury, find an excuse not to play. Whether it's Dame or Ant going to the Nets, Ben Simmons wastoid contract + future picks will help Portland tank for the big number one next summer.
Here is a thought....maybe when Siakam stated that he did not want to be traded because he wants the super max next year, it might have made them realize they need to get rid of him now so they don't have to pay him the max.
Maybe Siakam has been told we are gonna trade you to Portland to fleece them for some nice young pieces, then we will sign you back in Free agency next off season. he has two years left on contract and chance at another big payday I think he’ll be extremely motivated. Kind of proves my point with all the extra work he’s putting in this summer. Also maybe he’s matured and embarrassed by his reputation and wants to redeem himself (of course maybe not and he’s truly a dud worse case is you have two years left on his contract)
