Those who know Joakim Noah often cite his warrior mentality. According to a member of the Noah camp, that mentality is about to be tested. “Jo’s knee is going to be an issue all season,’’ the source said. “He has played through pain before with the plantar [fasciitis], but this is completely different, a different level.’’ The source wouldn’t go into detail on what exactly was the lingering issue with Noah’s knee, especially after he had exploratory surgery in May that was deemed minor. He was asked if Noah’s knee would be a problem beyond this season and said, “I’m not getting into that.’’ General manager Gar Forman would only say in a text on Tuesday that “Jo’s doing well.’’ Maybe so compared to where Noah was a few weeks ago. According to the source, Noah entered camp “panicked’’ that he wouldn’t even be able to start the season in the lineup, let alone participate in camp like he has. He was asked about the knee frequently at the start of the month and remained vague on the details. That changed a bit last week, however, when Noah admitted that the initial eight- to 10-week rehabilitation process he was supposed to go through this summer was ongoing. - See more at: http://www.suntimes.com/sports/bask...-an-issue-all-season-source.html#.VEenXIvF9q8
Interesting, but I'm not putting any stock in this without some corroboration. From what I've read elsewhere, Noah says he has no pain, but needs to work on strengthening. I guess we'll see. Sent from my Venue 8 Pro 5830 using Tapatalk
Some speculate the Bulls went after Gasol instead of fixing the wing positions because he's insurance for Noah.
More from KC on Noah's knee and the Bulls' big man situation The sky ain't falling, but it ain't all sunshine either.
