I expect United to win but I'm a United fan so you know I'd choose them through thick and thin. But really, we have a more talented team and a better coach so anything less then a W will be disastrous.
It's going to be an interesting game as Ronaldo is still out, how quickly Berbatov can get acclimated, while how long Torres and Gerrard are in their recovery. -Petey
Liverpool has 7 points and a +2 goal differential while Man U has 4 points and a +1 goal differential I have to pull for Man U.
I'm pretty sure the game will be on Fox Soccer Channel. Watch it guys if you have a chance, it'll be top class. (whenever the top EPL teams meet)
^ You're right Petey, Fulham and United are the only two teams with 2 games each. Everyone else has played 3.
I wouldn't say it would be disastrous to fail to Win at Anfield. I would be disappointed if United don't win, but it wouldn't be disastrous.
Well my blog is starting on this, so be free to comment as much as you want. Adding more tomorow night to it.
I honestly still wouldn't. Liverpool - Man Utd is one of the great rivalries in the sporting world. As long as the players are of Premiership standard, the adrenaline will be immense. Especially for Liverpool, since they can feed off the energy of the crowd. They still have players such as Xabi Alonso, Pepe Reina, Robbie Keane and Jamie Carragher who can be match winners on any occasion. These are players who are big-game players and, whilst I expect United to win, that does not mean it would be disastrous to lose to them. It would be disastrous to lose to Stoke, not to Liverpool.
I don't see Liverpool vs. United as a great rivalry. In fact, I find most of their games boring, but there is always so much to lose.
The games might be boring, but that doesn't mean the rivalry doesn't exist. It's mostly a geographic kind of thing, and Gary Neville has publicly said that he dislikes Scousers. Combine the general hatred for each other with the fact that United basically ended Liverpool's dynasty in English football which as yet they have been unable to regain, and you have an intense rivalry. Honestly, the rivalry is probably the greatest in the Premiership; the games might be boring, but that game means more to the respective fans than any other fixture in the year.
Yeah I'm trying to get back into Football (Soccer). I used to be a big fan before i came to the states but there's really not enough coverage here
I never denied that it wasn't a rivalry. I just don't think it's the "greatest". I feel as though Tottenham vs. Arsenal means more to the fans than a Liverpool vs. United game.
