The mid-late 90s Blazers were my favorite team (along with the Drexler era). I know that was the jailblazer era, but we had a lot of fun players on that team. Whitsitt really turned us around in 1996 Wallace, Rider and Anderson. That was the team that I really fell in love with. I was too young to really connect with the Drexler team.
That second video has Jason Kidd and Steve Nash on the floor together. It was absurd how much talent that Phoenix team had.
It seems like Phoenix backcourts have always been loaded... KJ and Hornacek, Kidd and Nash, Dragic and Bledsoe...
They were alright but I think I like last years team better. Love the early 90's team and was very fortunate to watch this group play.
For a couple years, they actually had KJ, Kidd and Nash all at the same time. That's insane. 3 Hall of Fame PGs on the same roster. BNM
It definitely was the beginning of that era. Rider and Ruben Patterson were probably the two worst criminal offenders during that era (at different times).
Nash was a rookie in that game. Then he gets traded to dallas then back to phoenix. Jason Kidd started his career in Dallas then when to phoenix and ended up back in Dallas.
Too young? I was obsessed at 4 and freaking out at 6 when we were in the finals. And you're five years older than me
I was a teenager in the 70's so the 76-78 era will always be my favorite. They played the game the right way. This Spurs team came the closest to replicating their style of any team I've seen in a long time.
Title gave me a stiffy. Sheed was the man. Anyone that doesnt let shit nba refs push them around is alright with me.
I definitely love last year's team more. It's probably my favorite starting five ever (since I started watching in 1990), and was one of my favorite seasons ever (The Shot!), even though we didn't get to the conference finals.
