Anybody else thinking the Heat are playing Oden tonight to see how he bounces back, and if he doesn't, they'll sign Andrew Bynum?
It was back before I was legal. This is exciting! I find myself hoping he comes back. Yeah right. But he deserves it, and I'm surprised to find that it won't make me jealous. We had to give up on him.
I feel exactly the same way. Oddly, I find myself pulling for him. The Blazers being good again probably has something to do with it, but I hope Greg can stay healthy enough to be a contributor for many years in the NBA. I doubt his knees will last, but a good year or three would be nice to see.
I would still bet against his ever playing a full season. A few minutes, maybe twice a month, looks possible now for the first time in 4 years. It's like Royce White. I used to say never for White. Now I predict the same minutes for him, too.
I don't know what's wrong with Greg, but I know something really must be fucked up with his body or he'd have come back a long time ago. He will not have any kind of career in the nba.
It's a bit odd that they started Oden in the 2nd half, pulled him after a few minutes, and he never returned. That can't be good...
Greg Oden's career earnings through tonight: $23,771,567. Tonight, he played in his 83rd regular-season game.
Wrong. Ten minutes, according to plan. You think they'd trade Anthony if Greg wasn't ready to play limited minutes?
He played 8:24 seconds, according to the official box score. Not sure where you're getting your 10 minutes from, but it's wrong. I think they played Oden to see how his knee reacts, and if he can't play consistently, they'll sign Bynum. Trading Anthony by believing that Oden is going to hold up for any period time is a dumb move. Playing Oden to see how his body reacts, and then signing Bynum, is a good move.
